To me, La Scuola is absolutely the best school! Amazing, nature-immersed campus, with a caring and attentive staff. Children have hands on experiences with real art materials, pottery, gardening, yoga etc... my 3 year old son comes home with his clothes "dirty" everyday and I love it, because I know he had a blast. Teacher sends daily journals with pics and info about the day. I also love that they're a sugar-free school and focus on healthy eating (you can take your own lunch or buy the lunch they provide, which is REAL food, not junk food). The whole school environment and community is very welcoming and respectful, including other parents and children. They hold regular communal events, like Friendsgiving Potluck, that reinforce that feeling. Only con: communication (from the school administration, not the teachers) is not the best and they seem a bit disorganized sometimes. But what can I say, no school is perfect. All I know is that my son never wants to come home when I arrive to pick him up and complains on Saturdays and Sundays because school is closed. That's priceless!

Our daughter is treated with love and respect from everyone in the school. They have a great environment and learning activities where kids can be themselves and learn everyday. I love their campus as it provides peace with all its nature and animals and kids are exposed to outdoors daily, letting their creativity bloom. I strongly recommend La Scuola, it's a lovely place!

I love this school and I'm one of those parents who always recommends it because I have seen and experienced an environment that's caring and loving to the kids. I love the small class ratio of teachers to students and how much the kids are able to learn in more ways than one. Kids are able to be kids with plenty of outdoor time. The school uses its beautiful green grounds for teaching and play. It's the perfect ratio of learning and engagement in playtime. Children begin their day with yoga, followed by group reading time. They also have a brain break in between lessons where they get to go outside and play under nature. They also learn about their environment and to be caring and mindful of animals and nature. Every Friday they have a cooking class where they get to learn not only how to make a new recipe and culture, but also to use math for measurements in a functional way. Their testing is not stressful and kids are not overburdened like they are in other schools with a great amount of work and stress that exist there. There's also large family involvement as they have different activities that are targeted for the involvement of family members like Grandparents Day, Mother's Day lunch, scarecrow night, trunk or treat, and plenty of field trips throughout the school year that allow them to learn and experience things they learn in class in another environment. The school is very responsive to kids needs and parents are always contacted whenever the child is not feeling well or something else that merits their attention. Another great aspect of this school is that since kids are not pressured to learn under stress, or for testing, they often exceed in their scores for SATs. The students are also able to excel once they transfer to high school. I love the fact this school goes up to 8th grade as I'm in complete peace of mind with my child not needing to deal with the usual stressful transition into middle school. Another important fact is that there's 0 bullying policy, so you won't have to worry about this prevalent issue in today's society while your child is in school.I can't recommend this school enough, and feel very happy to have found it when I did. My daughter has been attending since second grade and has been loving it since.

Wonderful school and #1 in Miami !!! My kids attended here for a few years and learned so much in a natural-community learning environment. The staff is extremely nurturing, attentive and caring. They have top-notch security measures! Lots and lots of fun in a family environment for all, especially during the holidays and other events the school hosted! My children have the sweetest Preschool and Elementary memories, they literally wanted to stay there all day long. Mornings were a breeze, especially with a child that has a slight neurological difference, he was happy to go to school! As a parent, if the kids come home dirty, that means they had a awesome day at a Nature School! The playground and landscape are a wonderous place for children that need that extra space to explore their curiosity and kinesthetics. If a boring traditional school environment is not working for your child, do not hesitate to check out La Scuola. Your child will still meet their milestones academically and physically as well as learn so much about the world around them and how to preserve the Environment. Ms. Barbie, Ms. Dee, and Ms. Stephanie are dedicated to ensuring students are happy, healthy, and safe while at the same learning everything they need to know.

I enrolled my son back in April for summer camp at La Scuola using the vpk voucher and I received a call just a few days ago on the last week of school from someone in the administration telling me that they are no longer going to accept the voucher for the summer. Despite accepting my son into camp months ago. When this call happened I was so caught off guard that I really didn’t ask too many questions so I called the next day to get a little more clarification. I never received a callback. So then I sent an email. No response. So now here I am and it’s the last week of school and every camp that offers vpk is full. I made financial plans with the understanding that camp was going to be covered by the voucher. These people are unreliable and untrustworthy. I never leave bad reviews but since they lacked the professional courtesy to respond to me I had no other choice than to address my frustration in this forum. This was extremely disappointing and poorly handled by Barbie. As a private business, I understand they have every right whether to accept this voucher or not but rescinding it on the last week of school is not ok.

We LOVE this school. It’s so sad to see parents (most recently) talk about the school without really knowing what happens. Parents that have been there less than a full school year (with COVID), misrepresenting facts. My children have been there for 8 YEARS and if there is anything they have received, is love and education. ALL lead teachers, 150% have Bachelors Degrees. The owner of the school is MORE than invested in all the children’s development and parents concerns. The worst is when parents assume information from terrible teachers, that every single school experiences. The owners of the school truly care about parents concerns, and so, address rehiring as such. The environment is nurturing and encouraging to children to meet their individual potential! Not a cookie cutter format that disregards individual learning styles. We LOVE this school and hope to transition our children to a fitting high school. Lilly Jimenez

Toxic and saddening. Schools should care about more than just a profit. The place is filthy.

This is one of the worst schools that my child has ever attended. Having an education background myself, I highly caution you from considering this school.

From all the schools I have visited, this is by far the best school for my children. Reggio Emilia's philosophy is like no other. What a creative and beautiful way to teach - La Scuola is truly an inspired Reggio Emilia school. My daughter attended La Scuola from preschool 3 - 2nd grade. She is now in middle school and she still remembers La Scuola. My daughter had to be placed in advance classes immediately attending charter school/public schools because her thought process and academics exceeds public school curriculum! Thank you for preparing my daughter for a bright future. The teachers are kind and well-prepared. The documentation displayed in various classes are so impressive. Is it evident that meaningful learning is taking place. You can see it throughout the school! La Scuola cares about the process of learning and not just the end result. As for the children and how they feel about their school, it takes a while to leave with your child for the day because the children do not want to go home! This school is definitely a second home to my children. My 6 year old son currently attends this school and he loves it! The teachers are well prepared and great role models. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. The chef at the school is very caring and is kind to every child, ensuring that every child is nourished by home made organic meals. The director is also very knowledgeable in her field and has a heart of gold! If your looking for a school that is one-of-kind, nurturing, academically rich but respectful to children's creativity, natural exploration and their process of learning, then consider La Scuola - Best decision I've ever made as a parent!

The only words that we have as a working parents are: Thank You!! La Scuola has been a family for our daughter, the teachers, the staff, the kind of students attending to this fabulous school are just great. We feel totally safe having our daughter at La Scuola since she was 6 month old, now she is in first grade. Ms. Barbie and the teachers do an excellent job all the time researching, implementing and following the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The fact that it is a small school, where everybody know each other, where all the teachers know your child, where your child interacts with everybody, where the food they eat is like eating at home; La Scuola it is just a "Family", we wished La Scuola would've been part of our childhood. Our daughter has been so lucky to belong to this generation.

We've had our daughter (3yr old) there for the past two years and are very happy overall... They involve nature in their curriculum and maintain a great learning environment.

Nice and good people work at this school. It offers children a positive and stimulating environment. The only thing I would like to see improved, is dedicating at least one hour to teaching children a second language as part of the regular curriculum; not as an addiitonal enrichment class for more money. The pre-school teachers should have a third healper to keep the kids and classroom clean and safe. Sometimes there are too many kids for the number of teachers in the classroom and the classrooms should be cleaned more often. Outside of that, the school is awesome.

Our two children have attended preschool here for the past two years and this August we will be beginning our third year. This school has great leadership and amazing and loving dedicated teachers. The classrooms are spacious and inspiring. They even have gardens where the children pick their own fruits for snacks and where they grow vegetables (this has inspired us to build our own garden at home). My two little ones visit the garden in the front every day before we leave; it s become our little ritual. They eat organic fresh made food which is really important to us, they especially love the meatballs mima makes. But what I love the most is how confident and inspired children become there. I see the growth not only in my two boys but also in their classmates. I am constantly impressed with how knowledgeable the students are and how advanced they are for their age. I cannot be thankful enough that my children are growing up in this school. I highly recommend you tour it if you are looking for a truly high quality learning environment.

The teachers and administrators are very loving! But, that cannot make up for there lack of follow through. changing of teachers without notification. My son is very shy and I had spent months working with his teacher to help him feel comfortable. We return from Christmas break and she is gone He also loved the assistant teacher and she was replaced without notice as well. When the new teacher(s) started they also stopped writing in their composition books My Son has not traced a letter in six months. I believe they are a little too relaxed. Also my children are constantly sick I do not believe it is as clean as it needs to be. My son has been going for almost 9 months and still cries when I tell him we have school. I feel that is a money driven effort.

I was offered an incredible method and presented with an interesting activity calendar. But the reality was that my son's class changed teachers two times, creating such an unstable environment for little kids that are being introduced to school. They where left with only one teacher and each time I walked into the class a couple of kids would be working with the teacher and the rest would be running or jumping all around, nothing like the method they explained to me. The people are very nice but they are not prepared for the task they set for themselves. From the comments of other parents in the class, everybody was really disappointed, and everybody considered that the teachers needed more preparation, they talk very nicely, but the processes and methods are a mess and the results really poor. The school calendar was never be followed, they would change dates one or twice for events, they will change or cancel events, even the class projects would change unexpectedly so it makes you wonder what can of program are they following or if they even had a real one. It is sad that such a good idea is so poorly preformed. We changed school a couple months ago and we are so happy.

After much searching we finally found the right place for our son, in just 4 months he has made progress far beyond our expectations. The small class settings allow one on one time & the teachers are top notch!!

La Scuola is an OUTSTANDING private school. The hidden gem of Miami!! They give children the tools to succeed in academics and in life. The teachers are absolutely outstanding and the administration is always attentive and helpful! The confidence and passion you see in the students is AMAZING! I Love the integrated learning approach and the fact that they use Conscious Discipline, which is what we practice at home. The school has a very strong sense of community and commitment to the happiness and success of the student and the families that are part of the school. My son started when he was 14 months and is now in their PK3 class and I couldn t be any happier. If you are looking for quality and for something different for your child, this is the school for you! My husband and I toured at least 19 schools and none of them compared to what La Scuola offers. This has been one of the best decisions that we have ever made for our little one!
