My son was struggling so we moved him over to Blue Lakes. We have had a great experience! The principal is excellent and very involved. Some of the bad reviews are from a previous principal. The current principle is out there greeting the parents everyday and knows each kid by name. When my kid was struggling with emotional breakdowns during COVID, the school reacted immediately. They put his mental health first and he is doing great! I have had children in general education, ese classes, and gifted. I recommend all!

Terrible! Except for Ms. Merendi, she is exceptional!

The autism academy used to be one of the best in south Florida with fantastic, patient teachers. In the past year and a half the teachers have been moved and the program is awful. Administrators are not receptive to parents' concerns. There are other much more qualified schools in the district for autostic kids.

My son, husband, and I love this school and staff! It has been a blessing for our family. I have tried other schools in the Miami Dade area; but there is no comparison Blue Lakes has the best teachers and staff . They are not only very professional and know how to teach, but they care about their students! Compared to children from other schools and his same grade level; my son is ahead academically. In addition, you walk away with the feeling you belong and are part of a big family.

blue lakes has been the worst experience I've ever had. I will remember this school forever and not in a positive way. The principal is very uneducated, unprofessional short tempered person I have ever met in a school she should be in a high school in liberty city.

his school has a bit of everything we want to keep our children away from. From bickering between parents/PTA to favoritism to those kids from the teachers/PTA inner circle to bullying and "teacher's choice" teachers who their classrooms are more than often, being run by substitutes. I've been dealing with this school for almost 7 years and have seen the principal 6 times. She's never getting involved with her students. Never.
