This school is cruel and demeaning. The work load is frequently filled with busy work and demoralizing expectations. Furthermore, the school continually demands after-school reviews until late hours, expecting students to have studied and finished up to 20 pages of homework for one class, and explicitly divides children into class divisions labeled as "smart" or "dumb". The teachers even openly admit that they do not care about the "dumb" classes, and the higher-level staff members ignores these classes, basing their pride on the smarter classes that brag of their academic integrity. Students are only known as nothing more than a statistic, and they are treated differently based on how smart or dumb they are. This does not sound like a friendly learning environment.

It is a school with a high academic level, if you are looking for educational excellence, this is a good place. They need to promote sports more..

This school DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE STUDENTS, they only care about their ranking and statistics. They pressure the kids to a breaking point. They make the students take AP even if the student can't handle it, leave so much homework that for the kid to be able to keep up can not have a life. The chemistry teacher rule the class room as a real despot and enjoy telling the kids that they are going to fail and make them feel stupid (not to the ones she likes) and she doesn't care because she know she won't get fired. And don't get me started with the counselor, she is a joke; and she will definitely won't get fired. There have some good teachers and even those take their kids out of the school. (there was the sign) This year graduating class is one of the biggest they have and they are only 71. More than haft of the juniors left last year. I should have heard the other parents and take my kid out of this school while I still had the chance. The principal expended more than an hour trying to convince us to let my son go to another university (not FIU) that we can not even afford. Only because I think this year cohort is not meeting their expectation.

Do not come to this school. The director has absolutely no clue what he is doing and even if you manage to speak to him he is not capable of making any decisions without talking to the President of the Board (self-appointed president, chairman and superintendent of all Archimedean schools), who is full of himself and loves to control and micromanage every little thing in all three schools. The assistant director is equally not capable of resolving any issues and half the times she is lost herself. The school likes to target one or two students that they will mentor (regardless of whether that student is academically strong) and they do everything possible so that this “chosen” student gets the necessary grades to get into a top university (the student is given preferential treatment). As far as the teachers are concerned, they do not teach. Some of them do not even show up to their classes and as a result the students are left unattended. The school is very unorganized and everything they do is last minute and without thought. The counselor does not know what she is doing and has even managed to lose letters of recommendations for students applying to universities. This school has no respect whatsoever for any student and it is more than obvious from the way they treat them. In the event you have any concerns as a parent and they finally decide to answer your email (and if you are lucky you get a meeting with them), their reply to you will be “if you don’t like it leave.” My child attended this school (he was an A student) and everyday he came home frustrated from the teachers and administration and the way everything was handled there. Furthermore he would complain about how the favored student got away with murder. A definite feeling of helplessness in a school that is unfair and does not care about its students and they end up getting sick. I removed my child out of the school as soon as I secured another school for him. He was able to be himself again and not feel frustrated anymore. This is the reason that almost half of the past year’s sophomore class left.

If your child is a thick skinned, academically gifted student - I say go for it. Everyone else may want to take a longer look behind the curtain. A significant number of kids transferred out of the sophomore class this past year (2019) in favor of other schools. Seems like they need to address some core culture/leadership issues. Don't let them convince you that admittance to an Ivy League school is a measurement of personal worth. That's just not healthy.

I am very happy with the school, my son started 9th grade, and he went to a different level on his academics, they create a health challenging environment, and I have to say its a very difficult curriculum, yet he is doing very well. it is a real college preparatory .

This school pretends to be open to all ideas. They are open except if your a Christian and you believed in traditional marriage, Teachers promote alternative way of life and bring speakers to influence the kids on gay and lesbian ways with the excuse that the want to be sensible to the gay and lesbian students. After my older son started expressing his Christian ideas my other younger kids got target by the school principal. When I requested a meeting with the principal she refused. I took my kids out of that school. Academics: Archimedean pride to have a very strong successful academic curriculum but at what cost? your ideas your principals and family life? Saturday school, they will be ready for University but not for real life. Don't put your kids thru this crazy school

For the parent that stated that Greek is only spoken in one country in the world. Have you ever realized how many Greek words you use every single day? You should be praising this school for teaching your child this language because their vocabulary will not only be higher than someone who doesn't speak this language but they will also have a better understanding of the English language. Where do you think words such as didactic, psychology, drama, pedantic, pediatric and navigate come from? You use Greek words everyday but you just don't know it. 60% of the English language comes from Greek and Latin words. You might want to rethink your comment and realize that your child is learning the best language that will help them more in life than any other language... and they will be at an advantage as an adult. You don't know how lucky your child is... This coming from someone who does not have a child in the school but knows the importance of the Greek language. It is not just for going to vacation in Greece.

Excellent school for smart children. They are challenged and work a lot more than if they would attend other schools in Miami. There is a very safe environment for kids.

This is an excellent academic schools, but it has too many drawbacks. The school does not allow any chance for children to decide on how to move on their studies. They make sure children are not eligible to transfer for magnet programs by their curriculum arrangement e.g. they never teach Biology honors in early high schools. The other major problem is they force children to study Greek just because the founder and school administrations are all Greek in origin! It is a language spoken by a single country in this world, why to teach children from KG till high school this language! This does not leave a chance for children to learn a language of their own choice. I think the Greek language will limit the school attraction as many parents will hesitate to have their children forced to learn a language without any utility or use in the future (other than if they ever spent a holiday in Greece itself!!) My son is, like too many children who are attending this school, hoping to get accepted in Coral Reef but he was denied admission to Coral Reef so he had to stay around for another year at Archimedean hoping next year he will can transfer.

How can I even begin to rate Archimedean Upper Conservatory! Being an Archi parent since the beginning I am proud to call Archi "HOME". As a single working mother you always want the best for your child, and I decided to place my son in the arms of Archimedean, not the hands, but the arms. This school is a family. You can pick up the phone any time day or night and talk to either the Director, Asst. Principal, or a teacher, they will do whatever it takes to see a child succeed. From the President of the school, the Director, the teachers, the staff, I couldn't have found a better place to educate my son than Archimedean. The school is challenging to say the least, but, with the hard work and dedication of all involved you can clearly see why it is ranked #19 in the Nation. The staff goes above and beyond when educating your child. They care! The best of the best as far as I am concerned! Just look at the graduates of Archimedean, all have been accepted into 4 year Universities. I know how much the school could use this $5000.00

my school is great, AUC is #1 and so are the other Archimedean schools, been there for 10 years so far, and i have seen the school grow A LOT so its great. It can improve by building more to have more students.

This school is one of the worst schools ive ever seen. The teaching is totally inadequate. A very close to me person goes there and the teachers do not interact well with the students whatsoever. Not long ago the teacher said after taking away the bag of the person i mentioned: "You don't need it because you're gonna fail anyway." Not to mention that the education will not get you anywhere.
