Archimedean is by far the best school in Miami.

No la recomiendo. Sus prácticas no están basadas en la ética y valores elementales de los seres humanos. Los niños no son su prioridad.

Amazing school with extremely dedicated teachers and an active PTO. It's not for everyone though. This school is HEAVILY academically oriented. You will be required, at least when your kids are really young, to manage your time well and do what seems like an extraordinary amount of homework with them (at least if you want them to get top grades). Our homework schedule with my son during kindergarten was 1-2 hours everyday, Monday through Thursday. My son still had time to enjoy his weekends, go to the park almost everyday, watch TV, and do one extracurricular activity (he could probably do more but we have another child who does a different activity). He has excellent grades and excellent test scores 2nd grade level in kindergarten). He's a super happy kid. Aside from the homework, the school itself is pretty fun. They have fun activities and "spirit days" almost every week. And the staff is extremely responsive to emails and generally communicates well. My daughter will be starting there in the fall.

This “institution” has a lack of communication. My child was not safe in their pre-k class.

You want to be miserable … send your kids here

The school that desperately wants to be a private school. Miami dade county should properly investigate. If you want to send your kid to a high brow school just spend your money on actual tuition for a private school. This is not the solution.

Both of my daughters have attended this school since 1st and Kindergarten, respectively (now in 4th and 7th). I have a third daughter who I expect to send here as well. The school has a clear objective and they have high expectations for their students. But for the right kid who is self-motivated and organized, the structure and support is there for guaranteed success. I don't understand the negative comments. I have nieces and nephews that attend other A schools and they have way more homework than my kids ever did, without the good study habits and positive view of education my children have been able to form thanks to the wonderful teachers at Archie. I am very happy with this school. COVID was tough for everyone, everywhere, but their approaches on helping those that needed extra help seems to be working. The administration also cares very much about the students, and the students know it.

Unfortunately although the school has “good” ratings it seems that they are been done in a way to keep the school standards as that is not the what happens inside. Bullying is BIG and is usually rewarded by the administration, in some cases the bully stays and the student been bullied has to go or been moved to another class. Kids are not working on developing their fine, motor, social skills are they are trained to do mostly everything on an iPad. Kids have learned how to tell “Siri” how to do things for themselves, therefore, relying a lot on technology which seems to be blocking developing thinking and social skills. Some of the students in lower grades experienced months without a proper teacher and therefore fell behind in the learning standards which most parents won’t know/discover until the next grade level when the kids start to struggle. The teachers have zero to no motivation due to the way they are treated by the administration and that at the end reflects on the kids. The school seems to be more concerned about collecting funds from the parents which are never disclosed as to how much was collected and the usage of funds, meaning no transparency. Everything done in classroom is fully endorsed/supported by parents donating constantly for any activity including their STEM accreditation, amongst other things. Hopefully sooner than later someone from the school board or district pays close attention to the school. This is not the Archimedean Academy school prior to 2018, where students had to be respectful to teachers and classmates, where the administration worked alongside not against teachers, where bullying has a consequence not a reward. Where parents are heard not given a bandaid or just been ignored. Also, where students had proper art, music, physical education teachers not assistants doing everything at once.

Obviously this school isn’t perfect, but academically speaking this is a great school. I’ve been here since kindergarten and I am now in 9th grade. I won’t lie, I’ve considered leaving because it’s hard work. In the end, it is great for my future and I'm glad I have this chance.

I have two daughters who attend Archimedean and I'm extremely happy with the school. The teachers are very involved and they want the students to succeed. Yes, they give a lot of homework but I feel it help student. This school is for parents that are willing to take the time to be involved in their child's education. I'm really happy with the academic opportunities my children have at this school.

My daughter has been attending Archimedean since 1st grade. This school is for parents who are involved and care about their child's academics. In life nothing is easy and only the strong survive. Sometimes when my wife and I are busy my daughter does fall behind or miss something, but at the same time, I don't expect the school to be a parent of my child. I just need them to be the educator. Parents must be parents at the end to teach their kids to be disciplined and self-sufficient. Not everyone is made for result-oriented school. When applying this is what I expected and as a family, we accept the challenge. It is like work. If the stress is too high one must know when to quit before going into a depression or having an anxiety attack. Those who are complaining I must first ask why you applied to this school and what did you expect. School is high-rated for a reason. It is like asking your child to go to the top universities and don't expect a lot of work and pressure.Building a foundation is fundamental. It shows the child hard work and it will pays dividends in results. It doesn't matter what school your child attends. All I ask of every parent is to be is a parent and culture your child. Deal with the problems face on and show your child the way instead of pointing the finger and blame.

I think 1-7 explains it all. If you are a parent that wants your child to have blind obedience absent of any critical thinking skills and do not care the constant soul crushing demands this school applies, then this school is for you. Otherwise this school in my opinion is low class from staff to parents peddling some pseudo elite credentials all because of high standard test score metric. Just about any public school in Miami-Dade county will be miles ahead.

They do not let children be children, they exploit them with homeworks and quizes. the teachers, especially the Greek ones, shout and do not motivate the children to be better. good children will continue to be good, those who do not have such a good development, harass them so much until they damage their self-esteem.

Stay far, far away from this school. On top of the ridiculous amount of homework, they require Saturday classes and after school classes.... all for the bottom line of making their school look good. Students here are always stressed due to the pressure at school. Do yourselves a favor and find somewhere else where they realize that academics is not the be-all end-all. No balance whatsoever at this school.

Great. Haven't had any issues and my kid loves it - minus the homework of course.

My children feel trapped in a school they don't like due to the excessive homework. As a parent I feel the school needs to be looked into further to understand the overall mood of the students.
