I attended this school as a student and had a very positive experience. I now work as a teacher and love my job. Merrill is such a wonderful district, and I am proud to be a Vandal!

As a parent of four children attending/attended Merrill Elementary School, I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible experience they've had here. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were welcomed into a warm and nurturing community that prioritizes not only academic excellence but also the holistic development of each child. One of the standout features of Merrill Elementary is its dedicated and passionate teaching staff. They go above and beyond to ensure that every student receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive academically and socially. The teachers here truly care about their students, taking the time to understand their individual strengths and challenges and tailoring their instruction accordingly. The curriculum at Merrill Elementary is comprehensive and engaging, with a strong emphasis on both core subjects and enrichment activities. My children have had the opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects, from mathematics and literacy to art and music. The school also offers extracurricular activities such as sports teams and clubs allowing students to pursue their passions and interests outside of the classroom. In addition to its outstanding academic program, Merrill Elementary places a strong emphasis on character education and social-emotional learning. Through programs like anti-bullying initiatives, and community-building activities, the school fosters a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusivity. My children have developed strong social skills and empathy for others, thanks to the supportive environment created by the school.Overall, I couldn't be happier with our experience at Merrill Elementary School. It has exceeded my expectations in every way, and I feel grateful to be part of such a caring and vibrant school community. I would highly recommend Merrill to any parent looking for a top-notch education for their child.

We love Merrill! I have been impressed since we started coming here. They have so much that helps the community. They have Free preschool, Free breakfast & lunch for every student, Free after-school snack for students that stay after, & Free soccer and basketball programs for elementary students. They are always having activities that get the community involved etc: homecoming activities, Halloween activities, Christmas in the village. I have never been to a town that has some much going on and/or that serves all there student FREE breakfast, lunch & snack. Also both of my kids need special help in reading and Merrill has a special program that gives them individual/small group help. This has been amazing for them. They are both now at grade level or just below grade level because of this. The staff is so caring! Mrs. Glazier has the best interest of our student and works so hard to make the school the best it can be for the students. We have felt accepted immediately into this small community. Merrill is a great place to bring your kids!

Merrill Elementary is good, but there are some problems too. The bullying is one thing they need to work on. They have no real consequences. The only thing the school does is talk to the child and try to keep them apart. Special ed needs to have more one on one time and less group time. Most of the teachers are very good and caring. Miss Linda is the best person you will ever meet. All the children just love her. I like that they have male teachers too because I think it helps some boys that might need to talk about something that they might not want to say to a female teacher. All in all a very good school, but I would only rate the middle and high school for Merrill 1 star.
