Not very happy with some of the teachers in this school. They say they don’t support bullying amongst students, but that’s far from the truth. The adults seem to be some of the biggest bully’s in this school. Maybe some of the staff should take a day to read all of the anti bullying posters hung proudly on their walls so they can refresh on basic empathy and respect for other people.

Teachers go above and beyond to make sure that all students are fully understanding the material. My sons teacher is even tudoring students after school for those kids who need a little extra help. Fantastic and professional staff, would highly recommend.

There are so many impressing points to boast on about this school. Two of my children have attended (Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades). The teacher- student ratio is good. Additionally, the assistance of class aid workers, speech/development specialists, and parents ensures that each student gets the attention they need. The teachers are compassionate and patient and generally make the learning experience an encouraging part of the students lives. The teachers truly reach out to communicate with families. It is a safe and secure neighborhood and facility. The office staff is friendly and organized and never misses a beat. The only area of constructive criticism would be better planning and cooperation from parents pertaining to pick up and drop off procedures. For now, this just means allow time for patience and all you can do is sip tea and laugh at the first world madness that ensues. Overall, I highly recommend this school. It is an excellent school!

This school is exceptional! 4 of my children have attended and all of them have felt loved, encouraged, and supported. Their teachers all treat them as individuals and adjust their expectations based on students abilities (high or low). The 3 rules - safety, responsibility and respect - are strongly encourage and taught everyday. The Safe School is like none other in the district, teaching children that they are responsible for their actions, there are consequences when making bad choices and reward when making good ones. I've never once worried about bullying because such an emphasis is placed on preventing and actively taking care of any situation that happens. This is very much a student first environment, and the focus on technology is keeping this school at the tops.

There is no discipline implemented at this school. Basically, the same kids continue their behaviors all year long with no recourse. Average students do not exist to the faculty and staff. The same star students are their number one priority. Parents with younger children are no welcome to volunteer at the school. The PTA basically runs the place. They do what they want, so that means their kids do what they want.

I think the teachers really care for the students, as well as the principal when I was having my knee replaced the principal and a teacher picked my daughter up for school and dropped her off after school

The teachers and other staff at Discovery are amazing. My son always felt cared for and was learning far above the other schools he's attended. The Principal and teacher really care about each student and it amazed me that Mr. Dudley knew all the kid's names with so many students at that school. We can't wait to move back into district so my son can return to this school. Best school experience we've had so far (out of 4 total elementaries we've had to put my son in)
