At this school, I've noticed that some students can be really disrespectful, and it's been tough for me because I've been experiencing bullying. It feels like no one is stepping in to help or address the situation, which makes it even harder to enjoy my time here. I wish there were more support from teachers and staff to create a friendlier environment where everyone feels safe and respected. On top of that, the food served at school isn't very good either. I often leave the cafeteria feeling unsatisfied and wishing I had something better to eat. It would be great if the school could improve the meals so that students actually look forward to lunchtime instead of dreading it. Overall, the combination of unkind behavior from some students and the lackluster food makes my school experience less enjoyable.

Middle School is usually a rough time for kids, but the staff at LSMS goes above and beyond to provide a safe and fun learning environment for the students. Many staff go out of their way to make their lessons fun and engaging. The administration is supportive of students, teachers, and parents. If there is ever an issue that is brought up, admin is on it and trying to find the best solution.

I have two children that attend this school. Both are thriving and for the most part happy with their experiences. The athletics department is awesome. They have opportunities here to try a variety of sports and extra curricular activities in a competitive and safe environment . The interaction I have had with staff has been great. The couple of times I have had a concern about something, the administration has dealt with it great. There is a fair amount of obnoxious kids running around and the occasional fights breaking out in the halls, but I feel like that's to be expected in most Middle Schools.

This school in my opinion is overall good. Most of the teachers are nice and help out a lot, but if I am being honest some aren't. Bullying isn't a big problem. Admin is very kind and so are most of the students. The wrestling team is pretty good. Overall I would recommend this school.

so i am a student at this school and what ever you do do not let your child go to this school teachers are constantly more concerned about there paycheck then your childs well being also bullying is a huge problem here i have gone to the principal multiple times about bullying get told oh we will look into it and they never do also swearing is like the only language kids know here and i often see special needs kids getting jerked around by there arms and holy cow the amount of kids who bring wepons is insane over all this school is complete trash the only good teachers are the art and science i do not recommend this school at all please stay away from here.

I am a former teacher. The high test scores here are not because of anything this staff is doing better than any of the other schools. The scores are better because of upper income families live nearby.I have personally seen teachers manipulate data to fit their needs when reporting to their superiors.Poor kids are passed on despite abysmal performance on standardized assessments. If you are from an affluent family, your kids should do well here. It also won’t hurt if they are members of a major religious organization if they are bullies.

The staff is horrible. You do what they ask and they treat you with disrespect and do not listen to parents. They discriminate against disabled parents and students. I see it all the time while at that school. Don't Send your kids. The principal Mrs Cartwright doesn't care about your students. All she cares about is her paycheck. I have made several complaints to the school board and looking into a lawyer for how she treats people.

Terrible experience. I have to wonder how and why this school has a rating of 8/10. That’s impossible. Speak with the real parents for better accuracy.

Lowell Scott is huge, impersonal, and does not meet the standards of education or character that I would expect from a school.

My son has attended Lowell Scott for almost 3 years now. I definitely recommend the school to others. Like any school, you will find teachers who are highly invested, and those who view the students as a problem if they require anything more than being told what to do. Our favorite teachers have been Mrs. Brockman and Mr. Meyers. These two teachers have completely shaped our positive opinion of the school. They are two caring, creative, and positive teachers who helped our son to feel good about himself and pushed him to want to be better. School should inspire students to want to learn, and they know how to do that! Some teachers have been quick to criticize, and less willing to be part of the solution when our son needed help learning organization. Our son used to love art, but the art classes here encouraged him to quit art because his work was never worthy of an A in the eyes of his teacher. Gym teachers allow students to be cruel to one another. The library at Lowell is amazing, music program is strong, and there are some fun activities for students. Overall, LSMS is making progress, and has been as good a middle school experience as can be expected in public school.

every year there is nothing but problems at this school, its disappointing that I send my daughter to this school knowing she hates it, I am looking at transferring her now, her rights were violated and after dealing with so many other issues, I want to be done with this school.

3 of my daughters have/are attending Lowell Scott middle school and they all have had a good exspirence overall. My oldest struggled with a few teachers her sixth grade year and after meeting with them and her councilor, I could tell they were not interested in investing in her as a student, which was frustrating. I worked with her at home with her studies and she had more compatible teachers her 7th and 8th grade years. My two other daughters, who are more outgoing, have loved their exspirence. Both have participated in student council, choir, guitar class, tennis and basketball. Some teachers and coaches have been OUTSTANDING while others disinterested, like most schools. On a few occasions the councilor has worked with my girls on finding good solutions when a teacher hasn't been a good fit for them. I take a very active part in my children's education and I feel like if the students want to put the effort in then the majority of the staff at Lowell Scott is eager to help them be successful.

This school is awful, the principal and vice principals were rude, the school itself needs to redone, the worst thing of all dress code! Maybe they should teach guys to control themselves instead of dress coding every girl for simple yoga pants, do you think it's comfortable sitting in jeans all day? It's not. Worst school ever

I have recently moved into the area and decided to attend lowell scott middle school and was severely disappointed. I tried to say hello to another person and they shrugged me off like i grew a second head! Just one of the plenty examples on how children here are extremely disrespectful and rude, and the teachers seem just not to care at all, but do only the expectations of their jobs. I used to be a straight A student in my last school, and due to all the constant stresses and constant assessments, i am currently failing a class i have always done well in before. By far the worst school i have ever seen.

This is school is horrible. Most of the classrooms do not have windows and most of the walls between classrooms are temporary walls so you can hear right through them. Teacher morale is extremely low, and the students do not participate in spirit-building events. The principal is not visible to the students, in fact, most of the students don't even know who she is because she likes to sit in her office all day (I know this b/c I substituted at Lowell Scott for several years). She never offers to help teachers, she only tells them to do more and more work and takes away more of their resources every year (more of a district/state issue, but she could try thinking outside the box to solve problems). Many of the students here seem depressed. Programs rarely carry over from year to year, so there is no continuity. There is no school newspaper, debate team, or drama club. The only extracurricular activities are sports and music. The PTA is a joke. Only a few parents are members. From what I saw, the teachers worked very hard, but were so overloaded they couldn't keep up and were exhausted all the time. I am VERY glad my children did not go to school at Lowell Scott.
