I previously wrote a review for the school in great error. There were a few misunderstandings as well as other personal contributing factors that did not relate to them in the slightest and unfortunately I took out my feelings of helplessness and frustrations on my review. That being said. I have recently worked out the misunderstanding with this school’s amazing staff and have resolved my concerns. Everyone seems genuinely kind, caring, and helpful. I am new to the “school” world, but the compassion and understanding they have shown, I am extremely grateful. Truly a wonderful team of professionals. Your child is in great hands here. We are very blessed. Thank you Chief Joe!

Chief Joseph is the best school I have ever been involved with, both as a parent and teacher. The principal Mrs. Hart has put her whole heart and soul into creating a community of respect, learning, and where every student feels cared for and wanted. Teachers get to know their students and take a personal interest in their success, and because of that, they have been awarded a National Blue Ribbon Award. Students are not just taught information but they are instructed on how to be good learners, creating lifelong learners. The atmosphere is one of caring and respect. Bullying is not tolerated, problems are taken care of immediately and with respect. There is a fun safe learning environment that prevails at Chief Joseph. My kids were more than prepared to tackle middle school because of the incredible staff who truly care about each student. There are so many extras to keep kids engaged, Girls on the Run, Young Rembrandts Club, Garden Club, Band, Orchestra, Art, and Homework Hangout help. There is often tutoring set up by teachers before school as well. It's an amazing school, with an incredible staff. I feel blessed to have had my kids there.

This school is awful. For supposedly having great scores, the experience we've had is well below par. Our kids (my stepkids) both need extra help and yet, don't seem to get it. We have expressed our concerns with the teachers but were told that the scores were "normal". On top of that, bullying has been an issue to the point my stepdtr is in counseling to help deal with it, but yet nothing was ever done about it.My kids are in vallivue district and as soon as any issue arises, the teachers reach out to me. Even for something small, so we can address it. So as my kids are succeeding in the vallivue district, my stepkids are failing at in this school.

Excellent! As an educator, it has been my joy to teach at this school. I am supported by the principal to be the best I can be for kids. I’ve taught many years and my years at Chief Jo have been very rewarding. We are a National Blue Ribbon school for the academic growth we have made over time. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the staff at Chief Joseph.

Overall my son had a great time here. He has felt valued by the staff. He has made some really great friends. My child has always felt safe and happy here. So that's a 5 star from Mom.

Chief Joseph School of the Arts is a fantastic school. My 6th grader attended first through fifth grade and received an incredible education. My daughter is currently in third grade and her teacher is wonderful. She is learning so much and the school provides a great environment. The principal is attentive, focused, and very kind. I recommend this school to anyone living in Meridian who wants their child to have a wonderful elementary experience that prepares them for higher learning.

One of the worst schools in the worst District that you could ever imagine. I am so happy that they are being investigated.

I had 3 children go kindergarten through 5th grade go through Chief Joseph and our experience was positive in all aspects. The teachers and administration put the students needs first and go the extra mile to ensure every student gets the help they need!

Great school! My son used to go to Chief Joseph. His 1st grade teacher was the Best teacher. Principal at this school is very kind and a friendly person. We moved and my son went to Prospect Elementary. I wish I would never moved him to prospect. Miss Chief Joseph a Lot!!!!!!

My granddaughter attends Chief Joseph Elementary, and I am impressed with the principal and other staff members that I have met. They appear to have a real gift for encouraging those that are trying and challenging those that are gifted. That is not a simple task. Good job!

Chief Joseph is back on the map! After having some turnover, I couldn't be happier with Mrs. Hart and the positive atmosphere being created inside the school. Students have to work hard for awards they earn and I see a greater number of volunteers stepping in. Once upon a time we were the premier school...9 years and 4 kids later, I think we're headed there again!
