Really disappointed in the transportation system. They're constantly canceling the bus. The school wants voters to approve them to borrow more money to build stuff for the school like a new track. But the school can't even manage their transportation system. I think they should worry about getting the kids to school first before they worry about spending taxpayer dollars on new flashy stuff.

My child had great teachers for the first 2 years but now has a teacher who is a giant bully. When I asked about what was done about it, all I got was that they had a talking to the teacher. My child hates her teacher and constantly feels that her and her friends are treated worse by her teacher. The school district has a huge bullying issue but seems to be turning a blind eye to the cause of it. Ive heard from many parents that the school district is going downhill. Im to the point that I would rather homeschool or online school my child than send them here. Hurts my heart to see teachers be the cause of pain to children.

My son has had an incredibly good experience at Mattawan Early Elementary. The teachers, staff, and principal are dedicated beyond anything a parent could wish for. We moved to Mattawan from a very good school district and have been delighted with the school.

Overcrowding is a huge problem in both the Elementary and later elementary schools. Mattawan continues to have open enrollment for out of district students, which takes away from OUR students. Make Mattawan accoiuntable for their lack of judgement in continuing to have open enrollement. We are moving in the spring and going back to Portage Public schools.

If you have a smart kid this school is for you. If you have a special needs child...forget it, they have NO INTEREST in educating our special needs children to properly teach our children. Very poor in the Special Ed. Area.
