My children have attended WCPA for 2 years now and the education and level of care the school provides is top notch. The staff is caring with all the children and they make sure to connect with them so that each child feels special. That is hard to do but they somehow do it well. I can see that my children have a head start academically because of the support and nurturing of the excellent teachers and staff at West Cobb Prep. Even my children's teachers from previous grades check on them and care for them after they move up in grade levels. Regarding addressing parent concerns, I have found that sharing my concerns with leadership makes a difference in resolving any issues that arise. That has been my experience with the director. She puts the children first! Additionally, the children have opportunities to participate in sports and fitness programs, Spanish classes, the summer activities are enriching and the school even provides after school care for parents that have to work a little later. I love this school for my children.

We think this has been a good school for our child. The low teacher/student ratio for $190 plus lunch is unbeatable. We find the teachers & staff to be nurturing. Academics are good, ITBS scores are above average. The children take monthly field trips that coincide with the lesson. I agree that the communication and on-line lessons could be helpful, but lessons are listed in planner and we receive teacher emails. We overall were very pleased with the school. I am sure like all schools, your experience probably depends on the teacher.

Poor leadership, and communication with parents on specific issues and concerns. No follow up. Small classrooms with mediocre teachers that equates to your child not effectively learning. It's not fun for the children (no creative teaching is involved) and definitely not fun for the parents. The school is simply not worth the cost.

This school is by far the greatest school I have enrolled my child. I was extremely nervous when relocating, with the thought of leaving my children with complete strangers. Once I began dropping off and picking up I became more and more familiar with the family atmosphere and i am no longer nervous. My oldest child is in Mrs. Shaneekas' Sr. Preschool class, and she is an amazing teacher. I have seen MAJOR progress in my child since being in her class. My child even comes home happy about her day in school and all the fun-eduational based activities she participated in throughout the day. Mrs. Shaneeka makes learning fun, with keeping the attention of her class. Mrs. Bryan is an amazing school director, although there are some changes that should be implemented. She is very welcoming and easy to speak with, and I really love her "open door policy." She handles all issues accordingly and professionally. Thank you West Cobb Prep for your dedication to my family. A Happy Parent

We really like the fact that this school allows late birthday registration if your child is not 5 by September 1st. And small class size. (10 in kindergarten). However 1st and 2nd grade are merged together into one class because of not hiring a 2nd grade teacher (IMO). They do focus on math and reading, but the foreign language is lacking and lack of teacher blogs and online lesson plan's make it hard follow along with what your child is learning. There was for us a $350 registration fee which wasn't an issue but $250 of that was for book fees and our child was given tear outs from saxon work books. ($20). Overall it is not a bad school, just lacking in some aspects of education which is made worse because you're paying for it. Lastly the school has no principal or education director as of 04/18/14

Amazing! My son has been attending this school since he was 3 months old. The care and education that they provide has continued to be great throughout our experience w/ WCPA. In addition, WCPA has a private school option K -2nd grade. This option, to keep my son there to allow time for the Smyrna schools to improve, gives me great peace of mind for the coming years.

West Cobb Prep is an excellent school. Their first grade teacher Mrs. Bryant is the BEST. She is so professional and intelligent. I am so grateful to have had my daughter in her class. Her approach to teaching is one in a million! I cant thank West Cobb Preparatory Academy enough for laying a strong foundation for my daughter!

WCPA is excellent! Deciding on a school for my daughter was a very personal decision and a lengthy process. My daughter has attended 5 previous schools in the Smyrna/Marietta area and we finally found a home a WCPA. The school culture and learning environment are productive and safe. They have core attributes, effective leaders, collaborative teachers, and ambitious instruction. The school offers an enriched curriculum .The competency and experience of the teachers are incomparable. The instructors are absolutely a delight. They are warm and welcoming and adjust to the needs of each child without hesitation. They command the room and are never short of encouragement and eagerness. The longevity of the instructors supports their dedication. I can count on the Director to keep me informed and she shines with kindness and grace. She is emotionally intelligent (the key to running such a large school), has great collaboration with the staff and parents to work together to achieve successful actions, raises the performance of her team members with continuing education, and most of all uncompromising in her principles.
