Based on my family's experience at Timber Ridge, I feel it is not a great fit for students with learning differences. My first grader with inattentive-type ADHD and unspecified anxiety disorder really did not get the accomodations she needed. Due to her slower work speed, she was being forced to finish school work during recess even though I was informed later in the year that is against school policy and I had previously asked her teacher not to reduce recess time. I often observed teachers shouting at children to hurry in the carpool line or in the hallways in a way that was very stressful for my daughter. This is a high-pressure school and many of the parents have very high expectations for their children's futures. Now that we've spent my daughter's second grade year at another school, I realize it is possible for her to enjoy school and get the support she needs to feel good about herself and build her confidence. If your child is neurotypical and academically inclined, then they will probably do well at Timber Ridge. But if your child doesn't fit the traditional mold, there are likely better options.

Our 2 kids are going to this school and they don’t want to skip even a single day. Timber Ridge Elementary School exemplifies excellence in education. Timber Ridge is an amazing school academically where your kid will learn a lot. The school has a small amount of kids enrolled so it’s very tight knit. The principal seemed to know every student. Now the biggest issue there, which is a huge one if you a a minority, is that the diversity is zero. The parents were very unwelcoming and though I participated a lot at the school and even joined the PTA, I never felt included or accepted. Apparently my daughter felt the same way which is why we were only there for one year. My daughter described being treated differently because she did not know how to use words like prejudice or bias. If you are a minority and looking for a place to thrive this is not it. You will feel shunned by the parents, administration will call you about the smallest things to find a way to label your child, and your child will come home feeling bad and unworthy. Academically my child excelled but it was not worth her diminishing self esteem. They need to do better with inclusivity and making others feel welcomed, because we did not. Her teacher was awesome though.

We have 2 kids at Timber Ridge. Our children could not be more different from each other (1 very academically gifted, and the other with ADHD). The school has done a great job of challenging and accommodating both of them. We have developed fantastic relationships with all of their teachers. They do a good job of keeping you informed with emails and even text messages on occasion. I have a couple of minor complaints with regards to PE, outdoor recess options, etc. But overall, its been a fantastic experience for us and our children.

Timber Ridge is a public school that feels like a private school. It is one of the smallest schools and the principal greets every student by name. The teachers are the best of the best and go above and beyond for the students.

Top notch, small community school. Feels like family. Phenomenal teachers and administrative staff. Toured several schools in the area before moving across town and this one won, hands down.

Timber Ridge is a fantastic school. It is smaller than others and has that family feel. Very involved parent group. The teachers are excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better elementary school for my children.

Timber Ridge school has really invested in my daughter's education and overall well being. My daughter has studied in 2 countries and another school in Cobb County. Clearly Timber Ridge outranks all the others.
