The faculty at this school focuses on punitive methods rather than skill building. The principal's arbitrary rules are driving children to behave in destructive and violent ways. I continued to attempt working with the administrators to help my son succeed for 3 painstaking years. I do not recommend this school for any child who does not fit in with the status quo. There is zero room for individuality for the students.

Staff is very caring about students overall well being. Not just acedemics. Very supportive of families as well.

Great School!!! My son and daughter attended Monroe. The teachers, principal, and everyone else working there are awesome. I'm so happy that we decided to send our children there. Monroe is tops in my book and the education my kids received was outstanding. They truly care about each and every student. Recently, I've noticed teachers wearing bully free t-shirts. That says a lot about the leadership at Monroe. Mustang Pride!

Monroe staff members truly care about the students and bend over backwards to provide each child with the best learning experience and environment possible. The are over worked and understaff, yet they continue to go over and above any expectation out there. They do not put in their time and go home. Come spend a day or two in any classroom and see for yourself.

Monroe is an unfortunate example of what is wrong with most of our education system today. Most staff in Monroe are more concerned with what is best for the collective and not for what is best for the individual. Instead of focusing on providing a challenging education to all children equally, they rely on their best performing students to close the gap with the inadequate performance of students who will lack the skills to attain meaningful employment as adults because they were taught to underachieve. Sure they have some great artistic and social opportunities, but that does not make up for their failure to provide more than a basic education for their students.The principle lacks leadership.

The teachers are great with keeping me informed! I have a son in a two family home and they are great with sending 2 Friday folders and keeping both myself and his mother informed of our son's progress! I am grateful for this!

There are lots of opportunity for parents to volunteer, however parental comments on ciriculum or school operations are not appreciated. The school lacks leadership. The principle is extremely touchy and dismisses parental concerns such as bullying and the lack of history and geography in the ciriculum. Some of the good teachers are overly burdened with disruptive students and an increasing number of non english speaking students. If I had known about this situation before we moved we would have picked a different neighborhood.
