As a current student at Maiden Middle, I would say the overall experience is pretty good. The teachers are great and most students, including me, grew a close relationship with most of the teachers. My personal view of learning is that I am motivated to learn, because I was more in the advanced classes, but I have seen a few students who just don't try. At the end of the year the school holds a award ceremony honoring all the athletic kids, A/B Honor Roll, A Honor Roll, Math Award (8th Grade), Top Cat Award (Also known as Principal's Choice Award), and Academic Awards for every subject. I think it's great that students get to be honored for their accomplishments throughout the year, and I think it really helps them see what they are capable of. My experience as a 7th Grader was great, and I can't wait to see what 8th Grade has waiting for me!

So far, it is not shaping up to be a school I'd want my child at. The principal is nasty, vindictive, and apparently believes it appropriate to bully children rather than holding discussions with parents.

Where it doesn't matter how much of a good student you are, doesn't matter how your grades are, how good your athletic abilities are or how amazing you try to be an never get into trouble all that matters is who your parents are... No fundraising to help the children its only expected to come out of the parents pockets an if your a transfer for get about it your disliked from the start no matter what.... I hate I ever decided on this school the high school though is amazing middles school is the worst

Where do I begin?! I currently have a daughter who goes here, and she hates it. The bullying is\was out of control such as girls writing very innapropriate things on bathroom stalls, and fighting. The lessons they teach in class are things she was learning in elementary school. The school doesn't have any idea how to raise money for the school but for parents to send in money, they don't have dances or anything that makes the students help their school. The school is also a little unfair with the dresscode. they tape holes in jeans, even if its not exposing exssesive amounts of skin, and during the hot months of school they ONLY go after the girls wearing short shorts if their parents are not known in Maiden. Also my daughter complained of "religious" things around christmas which she got changed so people wouldn't get offended. Overall I'm not satisfied with this school. Moving schools before the end of the year.
