My time at Seneca was terrible, and while the COVID-19 pandemic might be a factor, I am uncertain. I could probably name a few teachers right now that didn't care about their students and didn't put any effort into teaching. The classes were mostly unengaging, involving staring at a smartboard or reading a textbook for the whole hour. There was no interactive learning, and some teachers were prone to singling out students with difficulties. Having moved around a lot, I found this school to be the worst. I didn't make any friends and it seemed like everyone viewed it as a prison. I cannot fully express my hatred for this school into one review but my experience here was absolutely awful. Please don't put your kid in here unless you want them coming out with severe social issues and depression.

I have been at this school ever since 6th Grade, and my experience was okay. But, the teachers prefer to do things the easier way rather than doing what is best for the student most of the time, for example, as of recently I had been staying inside the school after hours because I lived 30 minutes away from the school- and it wasn't like I was roaming around the school, I was sitting in a place near the office. Several members of the office staff asked me if I had a ride, and I said yes because I was waiting for my mother to pick me up. But apparently this was not allowed, several staff members SAW me sit there for about a month- before one said it wasn't okay, not telling me beforehand that I was not allowed to sit in said spot- or be in the school after hours. There are few after school programs, there's the Track, the Anime Club, Robotics, Choir, and Youth For Christ- but nothing for students who actually need to just stay after school- sure there is homework help, but that's only on Tuesday and Thursdays. The school does not allow school of choice students, unless it is for an extremely intense reason. They expect students to live in the district. The school is clean, nice, and lunch is free. Bullying is very common, people with the slightest differences get attacked for it- many students like to make fun of people with Autism, making odd noises and claiming that they are " special " . The teachers probably hear this, but choose to ignore it. Religion and Race is made fun of sometimes too. As ignorant as the staff is, the teachers do well with teaching- and their material is easy to grasp onto. There are no advanced classes, except an accelerated math class. I would not recommend going to this school if you want your child to be above average.

I went there all three years coming from another district and I told myself in 6th grade that when I got to 9th I'd write a full review on this site and here I am. This school is very unique in a lot of ways and similar to others as well. Overall, I had a very good experience. The teachers are all very nice, though there's always a few in every grade to look out for. In 8th grade, one teacher humiliated me and left me with a very negative experience but every other one was good. I think this school provides the resources to succeed but a big part of it is teaching your child to reach out. I felt as though no one hovered over me but at the same time there was always someone there if I needed it. The homework is nothing compared to high school, so please feel free to discard anybody's opinions about that. It prepared me for the future, and if anything, I wish there was more homework so I could handle the next few years better. They don't really work with kids who's learning styles are more tactile, but visually and through listening kids should do well. There are pods for each grade so getting to classes and having a short distance to travel is nice. I'd highly recommend the choir program, as it is more rigorous than even prestigious high schools and the program is very rewarding and offers several opportunities and just explore more avenues in life involving leadership skills and dealing with new skills and the stress involved. The sports are amazing and the coaches are good, so please look into that. All in all, I think kids would enjoy going to school. I know I most certainly did.

The school overall is ok in how clean it is but the amount of homework is outrageous

Great school! My child came from Pickens County school district and I am very impressed with the teachers - communication is top-notch. I always know what is going on and my child is getting a wonderful education. The building is old and it took a while to get used to the layout, but other than that, very happy with this school and leadership.

I moved into this school in the 8th grade this year and i was pretty worried at first. Although the support the teachers gave me and some students (now my friends) gave me helped me out and i don't think anyone will regret going to this school

This past while I was attending Seneca really took my knowledge and understanding to a whole new level. I accelerated past my expectations even though I was on only in the sixth grade. The Principal has exceptional leadership qualities and the teachers and staff make it a fun and safe place to learn and grow. I would recommend Seneca middle school over any other middle or Jr. high school any day of the week. Sadly I am moving to a new school for 7th grade and hopefully I learn and grow as much as I did while attending Seneca Middle School.
