My child and I love her teachers. The PTO is very active. The faculty is quick to respond to issues. It is a friendly and welcoming school.

My daughter has attended Unity since pre-k and she is in 2nd grade now. Overall, we have not had many bad experiences . The school is clean and the teachers are amazing, so far. The principle and assist. principle could be a little more friendly. When I witnessed some students forced to stand up holding their lunch tray while eating and a child running with a very heavy book bag, being yelled at by a man, who appeared to be in the military, and he was carrying handcuffs, I became concerned. After asking my daughters teacher what was going on she told me she couldn't talk about it. I had a meeting with the assistant principle and she told me it was the STARR program for students that "misbehaved", she pretty much dodged any questions I had and seemed annoyed that I was concerned. There is no where on the school web site or in orientation that speaks of this program. If the program is ok to be in the school and our taxes are paying for it then why are the parents not informed? This is a very secretive program and is hard to find information on it. The school also hands out a permission slip to paddle your kids if necessary. I personally do not like that they would paddle students.

Unity seems to be an okay school but still behind the surrounding counties. The middle and high schools should be an embarassment to the school board and the parents of this county! The condition of Greenville Middle is a joke, the drop out rate..unacceptable. I will be pulling my child out at the end of this year.
