The most violence I have seen from a high school. Check the news, they have made the news for numerous fights, and it is still a problem today. What other HS has fights on the first day and multiple on the first week of school? The hallways are so overcrowded that is becomes a mosh pit to get to each class unless you have a class in the middle school building (the Annex). The fights are what I worry about the most. Parent/teacher communication is slack as they have too many students to know personally or even to begin to have a conversation with parents. I had to request a parent/teacher conference as my child was marked absent for a week and he insisted he was raising his hand saying here. They tried to tell me via email (because it is hard to get anyone on the phone) that he must be skipping. This is an honor roll student who has life 360 and I can see his Apple iPhone, watch, and air pods are at the school. We called my child into the meeting, and the teacher proceeded to tell me this was not my child. A student passed away last year, and nothing was really mentioned of it like the student didn't even go there. This student took their life and no counseling was offered. It just seemed to fade away in the wind like these teens are supposed to just simply sort their own feelings on the matter. Food- yes lunch is free but your child will constantly complain on how nasty it is so that is pointless. Also, you can't bring your child lunch if they forgot it at home nor if they wanted to eat with you. Nope, none of that. My child told me kids vape right in class and the teachers see it and do nothing because if they are sent to administration, they simply come right back. How is that okay? How does this show you are responsible for your own actions? And negative actions have consequences.

Horrible school. Full of bullies and they do nothing to the ones that are from Lugoff or their families are. Good ole boys system. Not even based on money either. Teachers do not care whatsoever about the students. Just there for a paycheck. Know many people in education around the state and the things that happen in this school, doesn’t happen at other schools. Would run for the hills and would never send a child to this school.

The staff and administrators at this school are unsupportive and rude. Many of them speak down on students or the way they work. The school is also never clean and there are plenty of janitors.

Throughout my time at this school I’ve experienced nothing short of racism, homophobia, and sexism. The officials at this school continuously refuse to do anything about it and would rather sit in their offices all day complaining about girls with visible bra straps than do their jobs.

Too many kids in this school first of all. The student to teacher ratio is awful. The maintenance on the building and school grounds is awful. The kids can dress and act however they want to. The rules only apply to certain ones. There are fights all the time...this school isnt what its made out to be at all. The sports suck and the principal walks around with his chest out! Discipline isnt handled the way it should. Theres a lot of bullying!! If I had the means to homeschool, I would.

This is a great high school in South Carolina with an excellent teaching staff and beautiful campus!

This is a poorly run school! The principal is very sarcastic, and unfair. It is a very unsafe environment. The students are not required to wear id's. The same rules so not apply to all. It is based on who you know. The cheerleading squad isn't properly supervised and there have been two civil rights complaints against them in less than 5 years. It is a good old boy system in every way. Students aren't adequately prepared to take the ACT or SAT! Class rank is inflated for band students. They are given an additional honors class in 9th and 10th grade which is weighted higher. An alternative is not given to non band students. Band students will always have two additional honors classes which ranks them higher. This affects state Hope and lIfe schokarships and have knocked kids out of scholarship money! Superintendent is aware and hasn't adjusted class rank! It would probably take a class action lawsuit since so many lives have been affected! Everyone knows everyone and allows this good old boy system to continue! Please consider other options for your children ! I wish I had!!

LE has its up and downs just like EVERY other school. I have been to many schools from up in Boston all the way down to South Carolina. And the comment about the blue hair, well as i see it, they help us believe in what most of us would call freedom of expression. We have all sorts of kids from everywhere and a good mix. For the most part we all get along.Out of all the schools round here, i would day LE is most fair! Teacher wise, i think you will find that most amazing and hard working teachers that are way underpaid. They can only do as much as the district lets them. Four stars because laptops were a bad idea, but now all schools have them. Camden high sucks, the end of that story. YOU GO LE DEMONS!
