This school has no control over their students. Nothing is done to control bullying or sexual harassment. I would not recommend this school to my worst enemy.

I like this school so far. Teachers are incredibly kind and consistently support students with work whenever requested. Deadlines are average and they provide us with enough time to get work done. Drama happens, but definitely doesn't get too awful. I feel that my teachers are supporting & preparing me for whatever comes ahead.

Our daughter is a 6th grader here and loves it. There is the typical adolescent drama, but that is to be expected. She has great teachers and for the most part is excited about school, which has not always been the case. We particularly love the electives she gets to take, something not offered at other schools. As with most kids this age, the school experience is highly influenced by her friend group. She has a great friend group of good kids. I would strongly recommend this school.

Discipline and admirative control have declined drastically in the 3 years we've been involved with this school. Unfortunately, it's been going on longer than our own experience. It is not even close to the same standard in nearby schools. I pulled my oldest out and didn't even start my youngest here. Neither of them were bullied, thankfully, but hearing about what goes on in that school makes me feel so bad for all the children who do. My oldest was so excited to start 6th grade here and we were so proud of all the options we thought were available to her. Throughout her entire 6th grade, there was so much classroom distraction that learning and progress was severely disrupted and delayed. Privileges were taken away in exciting electives for entire classes as a consequence for unsafe and downright horrible behavior. I've seen multiple videos of fights between students that have gone on WAY too long. My oldest was shocked at the daily disrespect that went completely unchecked. I interviewed several principals in the surrounding area and asked them how they would handle specific events that occurred at this school and every one of them had a better response than the administration at this school. I was a part of the SAC and DAC committee in this district and saw that nothing was going to change. Even parents on the board were unwilling to hold their own children responsible for poor behavior. The teachers are starving for administrative support. They are hands-down saints and amazing for all they do, but I am disgusted by the lack of support from administration. All talk, all data review, all excuses. I truly hope something turns around for this school. It is not the new standard. Parents, you have to get involved or it will not improve.

Not a fan. I will not be sending my kid here for 8th grade. The constant bullying is way out of hand the administration does not do enough about it. Also my kid was offered drugs before school on school grounds.

I would not put my children in this school. The learning environment isn't affective because they don't properly manage behavioral issues within their school. Excessive bullying and a lackadaisical attitude from this school administration.

Our experience has been wonderful! We have had three students enter programs at Erwin. All three have been successful. The teachers have been phenomenal. I appreciate their communication and consistency. Mr. Massey is an amazing band director. Mrs. East does a terrific job in science. Mrs. McCarthy is dedicated to the students. Mrs. Morales works to teach her students about the cultures/languages. Mr. West, Mr. Truelove, Mr. Walker, Mr. Bonnet, Mr. Marshall, Mrs. Hewitt, Mrs. Diller.....The list truly could go on! So many wonderful people making a difference in the lives of my children.

I agree with the most recent post. Discipline is inconsistent, the admin staff are apathetic towards their jobs and the students they work with. They have mishandled many situations that ended up being blown out of proportion causing additional problems.

Discipline is inconsistent. At times, larger offenses receive very light, if any discipline, while smaller offenses are given harsh discipline. WAY too little homework, especially for kids going to high school next year. Big inconsistency between teachers, classes, and grades.

I feel like all if the teachers here have prepared me accordingly to enter high school this year and truly cared about myself and other students. One of the best things about this school is the art in my opinion. The art teacher there is absolutely amazing and the activities we do in class are a ton of fun. Having spent 3 years at Erwin I have improved my art skills, become fluent in another language, and used their IB program to become more knowledgeable, principled, and open minded about the world around us. I would HIGHLY recommend this school to students and parents every where.
