This school is not bad academically. And then folks of non-speaking migrants have put the school under title one. And that I believe has affected the testing in the student body. Plus the pandemic, and Anne Arundel county, keeping their kids out of school for two years did not help that either. The school is known for its fighting among students. But having two sons in the school, I would not have a problem sending my younger one there.

As a parent of a 6th grader, I was pleasantly surprised the quality of education and the great support my new middle schooler received. With the school population being so varied and socially, economically and racially diverse, I think they are trying to create as much support for students as possible.

I’m a student here in 7th grade. I used to be shy. Really shy. Now I have a lot of friends, which is nice. I really want for this school to focus more on the oncore classes like maybe more class time, also focus less on math, science, social studies, etc. Like honestly what is the point of SS!

My son attends 6th grade here and I am extremely disappointed. Most of the kids here are well-behaved but they have completely been swallowed up by children who bully them and continually disrupt class. There are no ramifications for the bad behavior and nothing is done to stop the CONSTANT bullying. My son's experience mirrors the comments of the student below and it breaks my heart that another child feels the same as my son. It is so bad that I am considering placing my son in private school or even moving to a middle school zone where the administration cares for the child that is there to learn.

I go to this school now, and i dont have many friends here and i get bullied alot and it seems like the teachers dont do anything about it, our school could improve by workng on the bullying more. maybe have a teacher stand in the hallway and watch...

Better than others but needs improvement! The leadership is lacking. Rules are not enforced, drugs and alcohol have been found multiple times in just the past month, and the students responsible for this have been allowed to stay in school. The good teachers are great but the few bad apple are really bad. Changing grades and refusing to make them correct. Parents not notified of any of these things. Long term absence of teacher with no long term sub and not notification to parents of the teachers absence. Parent involvement is not welcome as much as other schools.

I'm one of the students that go to this school. It's the best school ever and i don't know what I would do if I didn't go here. The teachers are always there for you and they always try to make our lessons fun by making them hands on. There's always someone to be your friend and almost no one is all alone. I also just love the people i go there with. I'm so happy I met them. I used to be so shy but they've made me a social person and I'm thankful for that. The design of the school is creative and the windows in the cafeteria in the front of the school are really pretty. The encore classes that we have the opportunity of choosing teach us skills we can use for a very long time. I also like that we get to go outside while waiting for our buses to come and get to socialize and get some nice air. I have so much more to say but not enough characters to say then with. This has been the best school I've even been to for my 6th grade/first year here. My here has already been a lot of memories and many more to come. I would like to say thank you, to all the teachers and staff, for making this school the best it can be. I can't wait to continue my year and additional 2 here!!
