We moved to Edgewater and Mayo Elementary last year, I absolutely love this school. It’s known locally as the public private school because everything is such high quality. I love the focus on security at the school from double locked doors, the DOGS program and our AA Co police out front as well. The teachers are excellent and there is a full support staff too including school counselor and psychologist to help the kids. There are great extracurricular programs too; band, orchestra, 24 club, girls on the run, and much much more. Fantastic school that I feel very lucky to send my kids to.

We pulled our child from this school for private school. Too much emphasis on teacher opinions, nepotism is rampant, many of the teachers went to high school with some parents show extreme favoritism. Communication and leadership are terrible.

This school is a hidden gem! It's clean safe, smaller than area schools and faculty are amazing to work with and mentor the kids. Our kids have gone here since K and have excelled in math and reading...and LOVE the art class. Even with the recent COVID pandemic, this school deserves more than 5 stars.

It's a small size school with friendly environment, faculty and teachers are great, parents are supportive & attentive, various club/after school activities. We're pretty happy.

I am a former student of this school, and although I am now in high school I still feel it may be useful to post my idea of this school. I remember Mayo Elementary as being a very safe, friendly school, I always felt happy there and I felt like the teachers really try to get to know their students. There are quite a few things for students to get involved in, for an elementary school. The student body always ends up being wonderful.

This school and its faculty are amazing! We moved here last year from Virginia and made the tough decision to hold our son back for another year in Kindergarten. There were a number of reasons for this, but basically he's right on the age cusp (September birthday) and we decided to start him young. He did OK at his school in VA, but it was a half-day program and we were worried he wasn't ready for 1st grade. This has turned out to be a great decision! Mayo has full day Kindergarten which is better preparing him for 1st grade and his teacher is amazing! He was further along in his reading, writing and math by Christmas than he was at the end of the year at his previous school. We could not be happier with the School, the Faculty and the environment at Mayo Elementary!
