There are a lot worse schools in our area. While the overall experience is mostly good. There are a lot of areas for improvement. I'm going to spend my time talking about safety.Anyone could come in and pick up your kid. Anyone. So long as the kid doesn't say something about not knowing someone or that they shouldn't go with them. That kid is gone. There are zero ID checks, zero questions other than "who are you here to pick up?" Or they will just ask "are you dad/mom?" To which anyone Could just say yes to and they are fine with that answer. No other questions at all. I have emailed the principal and the superintendent about this. And they "implemented change" and sent out an email about the changes. But my wife went in and experienced the exact same thing afterwards! No change occured. I don't feel engaged or a part of my daughters school experience, class, or teachers other than what she talks to me about personally. And I even volunteer twice a week at the school.Again. Not a bad school overall. But they need to take things much more seriously about security. Especially in today's day and age. They also need to step up billy intervention. I've heard story after story after story about bullying and how teachers and staff do nothing to combat it.

Staff decisions are questionable sometimes. Students are very naughty in this school. Also as a 7th grader, I have seen multiple instances of suggestive noises in the restrooms, Fist fights, destruction of school property, and a LOT of swearing. They try their best by using a "Student of the month" thing where students be kind and get reported by the teachers so they could be student of the month. It didn't work. The students still do indecent things in school. The teachers can sometimes misunderstand a situation and punish a student for the wrong reasons. And those punishments could be unfair for the student. You might be asking "But what if they explained what's truly happening?" Well... you can't. They just don't allow you to.Staff is patrolling everywhere in school but they can only pay attention to one thing at a time. Say if one kid broke a small rule, a teacher comes in to him, then another student behind the staff is "flipping the bird". The staff would just say "Never mind what's happening that doesn't have to do with you." The mild troublemaker would get mad since the staff are not focusing on what could be a more important situation. Causing them to retaliate. So more trouble will happen. For both of the troublemakers. There is some good things in school that I could talk about but overall it's just hell in here.If you come to this school kids. Good luck.

I have had two daughters go through Mt. Solo. In both experiences, it has been a wonderful school with dedicated administrators, support staff, teachers, and coaches. This is a great school.

As a student at this middle school, I have had a horrible and stressful time. The teachers do nothing about bullying and sometimes bully the students too. I went to that school for three years and was punched and hurt for the simplest things. I was laughed at for my height and the staff just stood there and watched. I would not recommend this school and never will.
