This is my 2nd review of this school now that I have a 2nd child attending this school. This school is just as bad as I thought it was before, if not worse. Most of the students that attend this school are horrible. There's too much bullying and harassment. The harassment from students has extended to families outside of school. Students that get harassed or bullied aren't allowed to stand up for themselves otherwise they get in trouble too. Parents are not allowed to stand up for their kids. Longview school district is horrible as a whole because they don't do anything to make schools as safe as they should be. My kids have acquired extreme anxiety because of monticello middle school. I hate that we're stuck in this school district! There's only one teacher that my child likes. This school could also use better staff working in the office that actually cares about all students and not just the bullies. Kids should feel safe at school and my kids don't!

All of my children have attended this school and I have been involved here for the last 10 years. During that time, I have been pleased (overall) with the education and experiences for each of them.

Both of my kids have gone to school here. This staff truly cares about the students and wants to see them succeed. The improvement in test scores has been phenomenal over the last 5 years. So much so that there is actually a waiting list to transfer in. Great job Monticello, proud to be in the Mustang family!

This school focuses on bad behavior. They hand out referrals and Iss for everything. The vice principle has no patience, compassion or care for children. She is a tyrant who doesn't believe in second chances, on some power trip handing out punishment for every little thing. This school administration is fear based...they try to scare the students with punishment. They have no focus on bringing the best out in the kids and encouraging them to be the best they can be. It's discipline discipline discipline. So much to the point it loses its effectiveness. I am going to the school board about this school, keep your kids away if you can.

Its a great school. I'm personally not a big fan because of just a couple teachers. I like that there is discipline at the school. If a student is misbehaving, or disrespecting a teacher or student the principle is going to do something about it. I love Monticello, and as an 8th grader you know the school well. You have the teachers that you liked, and the ones you didn't like. But this is how I imagine it. I always ask myself "would I want my kid to get taught in this environment?" Generally the answer to this question is yes. but in some cases the answer is no. such as in my current English class. there is basically no discipline in that one class. everywhere else is just fine. I think the school could improve on respect. that's one of our core values is that we all respect each other. but sometimes we don't. and that sometimes has turned into an all the time thing and it needs to be stopped. other than that Monticello is an amazing school.

I personaly love it here im a 7th grader i work at my absoulte best i have gotten multiple 4.0's. There's bullying just like every other skwl i prevent this thou and it dosent happen often.! i love it here and the teachers.! i recomend to any1.! its a middle skwl and a pretty awesome one.!
