This school is not to be recommended to in the slightest. The academic program is mediocre and teachers fail to explain to their students concepts or go back to lessons. Bullying in this school is very prevalent and is not taken care of correctly. Teachers ignore students being bullied or insulted and dont listen. I even scolded by one of the teachers for saying I was being bullied. I was even told by many students to kill my self or end my life. From kindergarten to middle school, while I attended this school it was horrible. The current school I go to is so much better then First Baptist and show more Christian character then they ever did. If I could have changed schools sooner I would have. If you want to put your child in this school I highly persuade you to reconsider. This school will ruin your perception on Christians and quite literally is HELL on earth. I honestly hope and pray that one day First Baptist has to close down. To anyone considering this school save yourself and your child the trouble and enroll them elsewhere.

I appreciate this school. The teachers are kind and sincere in their desire to see young people exceed. I am thankful for a Christian based private education for a cost lower than most day cares. Especially in the Los Angeles area. The curriculum is high quality and my 3 children all learned to read in Kindergarten. They excel in math as well. Perhaps there has been problems with the school in the past, but we are happy with the current staff and school structure at this time.

I started attending this school in K4, and continued attending for the remainder of my adolescent education. I graduated high school, ill-prepared for college or the real world. The $3000 yearly tuition my parents paid for the 14 years I attended, granted me a non-accredited high school diploma. Thankfully, I was able to attend a Christian liberal arts university right out of high school (one of a handful of 4-year universities that accepted my HS diploma). If I could change one thing about my adolescent education, it would be to have never attended this school. I feel as though the education was definitely lacking, and the educators were severely under-qualified. Most of the educators teaching at this school either attended “Bible colleges” (non-accredited colleges) or have no formal educational degree, and the education I received clearly reflected this. Looking back on my time at this institution, the hypocrisy was unbelievable. So much of my experience was ravaged by made-up, judgmental, legalistic “rules” (with no Biblical backing) of how a Christian should behave. It saddens me that my parents chose to invest in my education and enroll me in this school so that I could have an excellent education, and be instilled with Christian values. However, I graduated doubting the legalistic Christianity I was taught, and not prepared for basic Freshman college courses. For anyone considering this school for their children, I urge you to reconsider. There are so many better options in the area that can provide a solid Christian foundation, along an accredited education. From a graduate, and 14 year attendee, please do not set your children up for failure by sending them to this school.

This school is amazing! With the change in leadership over the last few years and the change in the curriculum the environment surrounding the school has improved greatly! I would 100% recommend this school to any Bible believing Christian family.

This experience is terrible. The "Christian Leadership" at this school is hypocritical. I always told my son to go to an adult when kids were bullying him; however, the teachers ignored him and lacked to action. The students at this school are hypocritical and do not have Chrisian-like behavior. My son tells me that his peers were constantly teasing, pushing, shoving, and name-calling him every single day. After him telling me that, I wondered, "Is this the school where my son should be taught to follow the ways of God"? My son was very depressed during his years at this school and my wife and I were praying for him everyday to get him through the years. The students and the teachers were not the only problem, however. The curriculum in this school is really bad, so bad in fact that kids in public schools are receiving education with high levels of math, science, and english designed to prepare them for high school and college. From the perspective of my son, this school did not prepare him for middle school or high school education. When my son transferred to a middle school with public education, it was a more challenging environment and he learned a lot more about the subjects he would normally would at First Baptist Church School. What made me pull out my son from this school was the self curriculum they had to do. Self Curriculims, such as Ignitia and PACE, are not good for the leaning environment. When they first introduced the Ignitia curriculum here, which was approxiamtely three years ago, the teachers did NOT do anything besides babysit in the Orwellian environment the students were in. Here's the catch: when I transferred my son to a public middle school, he was using his full potential, and he made friend and had teachers that were really nice to him who showed him respect, kindness and amnesty (they were not even Christians). This says a lot about the morals of the community at this school. If a public school can display the qualities of a Christian, while not being a Christian, SHAME ON THIS SCHOOL AND THE CHRISTIANS IN IT! As a fellow Christian, we need to become better Christians, along with a supportive learning environment for the students. My Advice: Bring your kids to this school at a young age to enhance their morals. Then when enter sixth grade, switch to a public school so that they can be successful in life.

My son attended this school since K-4 and is now entering junior year in high school. The elementary years were great but middle school and high school is a bit of struggle. School changed curriculum during middle school and high school, and the teachers don't actually teach but just "monitor or supervise students" doing their work through PACE program and the IGNITIA online. Students who are not motivated lag behind. The school is not accredited. My son convinced us to get him to an accredited public online school to save money and get an accredited high school diploma. A few subjects may not be credited so he will need to probably delay graduation if he is not able to catch up in two years. I would not consider it average academically but instilling Christian education made it a notch higher...

I'll rate them 'A' on Christian Leadership. As an alumni, my high school diploma was not accepted in a University , I was told that the high school was not accredited, therefore I needed to get my GED... what a disapointment.
