We have been part of this school for 4 years now and it is the best school we could ask for. As a teacher myself, I am so happy with the teaching that goes on. Small class sizes and individualized learning.

Madison does an amazing job of treating their school community like family. My children have always felt safe and welcomed there. More than 3/4 of the teachers and staff have been there for 10+ years and it’s evident that they enjoy working at Madison. This school makes social emotional learning a priority and has amazing social workers and learning supports staff. The PTA is very active and holds many free events and activities for the school. Finding a diverse school that represented many different cultures is difficult to find in some suburbs and Madison is one of them. Test scores are not the only measure of a successful and thriving school!

I'm an educator in another district, and my son attends here. He loves it. I definitely feel that he is supported here. He's got great teachers. I'd say the most frustrating thing is the lack of lunch supervisors (understaffed, teachers support but that shouldn't be falling on them they need the time to eat lunch, plan, etc) and that if there is indoor recess they're stuck having it in the halls for the same reason - lack of needed staffing. I'm not sure if this is an issue due to funding or not an appropriate income offer for the position. To recap;Great staff who are investedPrincipal who is invested and supportiveGreat PTA and community investmentDeserves better support from the district to meet needs

I have 2 daughters, 1 just left Madison, one is in 3rd and the school is phenomenal. My elder child is neuraldiverse and the support she received was amazing, they supported her in all her needs. My younger child is on the other side and more advanced. The schools Infinity Reading and Math gives her the challenge she needs. Everyone on staff is amazing and supports the children and families. I can't say enough good things about Madison!!

I have 3 students currently at Madison and I am a teacher myself in a different district. The teachers and leaders at Madison truly care about their students and families and the community here is second to none. Community, school and life are what you make of it. If you engage with the school, the teachers and programs you will see how much they have to offer. The school is culturally diverse and respectful of all, celebrating our differences with popular events like Heritage Night. There are so many rich opportunities to visit and become a member of the greater community through school and PTA sponsored events. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and I could not ask for a better experience for my children.

My family moved to Lombard in the middle of my son's fourth grade year. I cannot stress enough how lucky were that he landed at Madison Elementary School. My son was welcomed with open arms by his teacher and classmates. I believe this is Lombard's hidden gem with great leadership from Principal Vasquez, the camaraderie between the grade-level teams, and excellent PTA and the diversity this school offers. The first event I attended was International Night, which showcased food from families in the school showing off their heritage and celebrating their diversity. This year, the 5th grade has has a culmination of events as a rite of passage to middle school. The school hosted an Academy Awards of Books, to showcase books the students loved of reading and book they nominated- and they were able to vote. In addition, they have had several field trips and hosted parents for a farewell breakfast. I have felt during his time at Madison that he was safe, learning a lot (they offer advanced reading and math classes) and was taught principles of good citizenship. If you are looking to move to Lombard, don't let the low rating scare you away from this school. It is the diversity in the students, some of which are immigrants, that can affect test scores. But a school is so much much more than test scores, and you can feel the love at Madison as soon as you walk in the front door.

This is a warning to any parent who is thinking about sending their child here. We have been to two other elementary schools and this was by far the worst experience my son and I have had. I actually feel sorry for the people who've rated this school well with no comparison because they have no idea how much better they could have it.

Great school and the Teachers are so dedicated towards students, as well as Principle is so involved with students and Parents.

My review was removed. Not sure what I clicked, but I'll make it short this time.. Worst school in the district.

Madison School is the lowest rated in the district, the principal for a while wasn't the brightest guy, so his contract was eventually not extended, but it took them awhile to realize it (5years). The district does have an open enrollment policy, so you can go to any of the schools. I took my kid out after kindergarten. When 5 year old brought home fireworks and was trying to work them. I felt it was wrong, but the schools non reaction was even more worrying.

This is our 4th year at Madison and we love it. It is sad that the rating is do low, only a "5" because this is strictly reflecting the ISAT scores in the first year that the standards we're adjust for Common Core. We have a new principal this year, and he is very involved and the kids really like him. I cannot say enough about the amazing staff at Madison. They all go above and beyond for their students. Great PTA, a wide variety of programs and activities for the children and families.
