I am extremely disappointed with Millburn Middle School. The teachers demonstrate a lack of professionalism and dedication to their students. Emails from students often go unanswered, leaving them without the support they need. Additionally, the staff shows an alarming disregard for respecting and supporting the transgender community and their friends, creating a non-inclusive environment. The administration and teachers seem to reward bad behavior while favoring only one specific demographic group. This is disheartening and sends the wrong message to students. Teachers have lied about issues in front of parents, which erodes trust between families and the school.Assignments are another major issue. Teachers fail to check or grade late work and falsely claim it was never submitted. There are even instances of teachers losing students’ assignments entirely. Such carelessness is unacceptable and hinders students’ learning progress.I sincerely hope Millburn Middle School takes these concerns seriously and works to create a more supportive, inclusive, and accountable environment for all students.

I have had two kids in this school and they just absolutely loved it! The band program was exceptional and they were both in the honors classes. I loved the activity bus! They were involved in XC, Track, Band, Theater, Dance, Cheerleading, Choir and more and loved all of it! The after school program was a favorite of theirs as well. They made many great friends.

We have been greatly let down by Millburn. Ever since we moved into this district, bullying has been an ongoing problem. I completely agree with the other reviewer - nothing is being done to address this issue. It has reached a point where my child is afraid to go to school. I truly hope that the administration takes action and brings about positive changes. These kids deserve so much better.

We are happy with our school. Teachers are very caring and I think the overall experience of the kids is great.

At Millburn Middle School, I feel like the teachers push certain characteristics like respect and integrity too much and also focuses on anti-bullying too much. It gets annoying when the school is trying to push these characteristics onto us for the past five or so years. Millburn should also try and focus more on the extracurricular activities that aren't sports, like the theatre program and band. When I was in theatre, our production was poorly done. I know theatre is getting more recognition, we had a better production this year (2019), but I still feel like other extracurricular activities, especially those set up by students, should be recognized more by the administration.

Nothing would make me happier than loving our school. Like most people, we bought our house here because of the stellar school district reputation. I volunteer at the school and try to be a contributing member of the school community. But, they make it so hard to want to be there. At this point, I just donate money when it's needed and avoid showing up there.

The place isn't terrible, most of the teachers are good at what the teach and add something to the experience. A lot of the teachers are good with students and are able to handle most scenarios, while making the class fun and engaging. I've found that some teachers, as well as a large portion of the administration at the district, are seemingly not capable of performing their job to a level on-par with the rest of the teachers in the district. The principal at Millburn Elementary is almost always ready to do something and help students, the Vice Principal is in a similar scenario. The Principal here (as of 2018) has not done enough to help with students, and after talks with friends and family, has not helped them either when they had requests. I've found that extracurriculars that are outside Sports don't seem to get much attention from administration either. Band is neglected greatly and one to three parents are advocating for the firing of the schools 16 year band director, the district is only following along with the loudest minority and the superintendent says he has to, "please everybody". Any person would know is impossible, especially when your job is public relations with a school district, even one that's as small as this one. Extracurriculars started by the students are even worse. Even if the teacher that decides to work with your group is there for more than the 50 dollars per student, the school, and OTHER TEACHERS will try their hardest to kneecap your program just because they can, or because they feel jealous that a student is trying to do something interesting other than strictly learning inside the school walls.Overall, a lot of the teachers are really well, but the administration and a few distinct students in the school need some level of formal reeducation.

All the teachers are very supportive. They recognized my children's higher abilities and moved them to the AIM program. Everyone at the school couldn't be nicer.

Very good experience, teachers listen to you and new technology implementation (iPad) keeps you in touch with what kids and what they are learning every day

Don't let this school's rating fool you. They push failing students through to boost their numbers. I would know, my son failed a majority of his classes and they refused to hold him back.
