This school was absolutely the worst school my kids have ever attended .They got bullied and the teachers were extremely disrespectful and dishonest they only care about themselves. My child reported to me that several of their teachers was using profanity. They got bullied and the teacher just told them to figure it out and to walk it of. 50% of the time there food is moldy and the milk is constantly expired. It's bad enough my child has gotten food poisoning and they really call that food healthy. The homework is super easy and has no effect on my child's education. One of my children has autism the school does not help at all and he's constantly upset. The school is super disgusting and has rats and cockroaches in the bathroom. This school has absolutely no effectiveness and will not help your child at all I'm warning you do not send your child hear.

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Kooser, from teachers, to principal and front office, to various events. Our child has made many friends and loved the teachers, and any instances where potential bullying or hurt feelings have begun to show up have been simultaneously squashed by teachers and by us at home. It seems many parents expect the school to raise and defend their child, and forget that they are the ones with the lead in this process; Kooser’s homework policy reflects that. From early on, they focus on math and reading, ensuring the child has an identified “homework helper” for math, and for reading they ask that parents have the child aim for 15-20 minutes per night. Their policies make sense, teachers are empowered and caring, the principal has only ever been engaged and helpful, and the diversity within the school is fantastic, especially for its location.

My daughter has gone to this school for the past 3 years. She is slightly ADHD and all 3 of her teachers have been amazing with helping her to focus during instruction time. She has not had a negative experience at school and always states she has had a good day. I feel the teachers are fully equipped with the knowledge needed to make my child success in more than academics. I appreciate all of her teachers hard work with my daughter.

Unfair, immature and a lot of withholding recesses from students for very small things that are not done the way the teachers or principal want. Students get sent to the principle all the time for petty things. Front desk individual has an attitude and makes rude smark comments. Some of the teachers try to cover things up and are dishonest. Principal singles individuals and children out. Inconsistent behavior for adults and a lot of scare tactics involving county attorney. Privacy issues. They do not seem like genuine people at all and have not treated my special needs child fairly at all. I cannot speak for everyone as everyones experience may be different but I would never recommend this school to anyone. Someone has to tell the truth. Something is not normal about this place.

Our daughter has been very lucky to have the teachers and administrators here. They have really pushed her learning while providing a comfortable environment. The teachers and staff have gone out of their way to teach responsibility and compassion. The principal is one of the best in the state at creating an environment of support, acceptance, teamwork, and caring about others.

The teachers at this school are great. It's the principal and other "support" staff that I am not at all happy with. Since moving to Lincoln, getting both of my children adequate after school care has been an issue. Kooser has the YMCA for after school care yet the waiting list is impossible to get past. The district does not provide transportation and traffic is horrible before and after school. The school advised me during a collaborative plan meeting they would do all they could to help since my family is in lincoln alone. Nope. They did nothing and are very insensitive to the diversity of families who go to the school. Instead it's all threats. Either pick up and drop off on time, or we have to report you to the district attorney. No other suggestions or accommodations. The social worker and principal talk to you as of you're a child or on state assistance since I'm black. Lincoln schools coming from Omaha has been a major set back. Again, the teachers are great and that's the ONLY thing that has kept me here, especially at Kooser. New principal and support staff and real programs are definitely needed in that growing community

I find that this school, very much like other schools in the district have the same issues i have encountered during the past two years i was employed as a substitute teacher. I have not had really good dealings with this school. The principal and office staff did not make a good impression on me. They came off as very snobbish and unfriendly. I am from a smaller town where everybody is kind towards different types of people and willing to lend a helping hand. I am finding that teachers, principles, and other staff are taking their positions to their heads where they think they are so much better than what they are really worth. They feel they have that power to put down a substitute teacher who doesn't have ties with the area, or a parent, or even a young, idealistic student teacher. It is sad that it takes a few people to tarnish one's dream. My hat goes off to the one parent who had experienced troubles with this school in this review thread. I am glad i am not the only one who shares this sentiment for this school. My 6 bad experiences at these schools have made me label all of the Lincoln Public Schools as "not user friendly" "judgmental" and "power hungry"

My son started kindergaten this year and loves it. When I pick him up after school at the YMCA after school program he almost always stays an extra ten minutes or so to play some more, when we finally make it to the car and I ask him about his day, he always says he had a good or great day. The only thing I don't like is for kindergaten they have computer day, nothing to do with the school, it's LPS. It would be better if he was learning a different languages or learning the states, but that's my opinion.

We had our 2 oldest boys attend Kooser a few years ago. At first everything was good. The younger of the 2 was attending school for the first time and really liked going. He enjoyed school so much that he would go to bed extra early because he couldn t wait to go again the next day. Mrs. Anderson his teacher was excellent at her job. The next year wasn t so great. When our little Kindergartener went on to 1st grade his attitude toward school changed dramatically. It was extremely hard and heartbreaking to see our kid go from loving school so much to hating it with such passion. Halfway through the school year we found that our kid was being bullied by 2 of his classmates. After no luck with his teacher we decided to go to the principle. This ended up as a very bad idea. Our son was at that point a target for the school. With a number of complaints from the principle and our sons teacher due to him telling his teacher and/or the staff the school was turning it around on him stating he was the problem. It wasn t until the end of the school year when the principle called to inform that our son had verbally made terroristic threats toward the school. Continued with Our son was sent to-

My child has been at Kooser for the last five years. I have never met so many caring teachers in all my life. (and I graduated with a teaching degree, so I have met my share of teachers :) They care about the students well being and they all want the students to be happy AND succeed. Besides the teachers, the principal is outstanding and very personable, the facility is immaculate. Also, it makes me smile when I see so many smiling parents, childeren and staff all at family functions. My child loves to get up and go to school everyday for interaction with not only his peers but the great staff they have there! In the five years, the only negative I have had was fixed before the day was up. I emailed the principal with my issue and received a phone call right away at work with a solution and apology. A negative was quickly turned into a positive. I am proud and lucky to be in the Kooser School District!

My child has attended this school since it opened, 5 years ago. We have experienced good and bad. I have a child that needs extra encouragement and help focusing sometimes. I as a parent had lots of help with the special ed program until the assistant principal left. The principal and new assistant principal both seem to have power issues and tend to push parents around and away. The principal has soured many parent school relationships. I have had a handful of problems with the way she and some of the office staff speak to me as a parent and to my child. Many of the teachers are very good teachers a great, but in my opinion there are several that lack the drive to teach at an elementary school.
