Do not have good approach toward kids with disabilities or behavior problems

If you have a choice to take your special needs child to another school take them elsewhere. Clinton Elementary School will not help to make improvements in behavior. Instead they will confine them in a small windowless room that they call the "Alternate Learning Environment"(ALE). When you object to this treatment they will claim your child is a hazard to other children and do it anyway. If you have to take your special needs child here be aware that they will put your child in this room and hold the door shut instead of doing any type of useful behavioral modification therapy. They will also leave your child unattended at times and then punish your child for looking for the adult that is supposed to be watching them.

Placed an autistic child in a solitary confinement type room and held the door shut. Also confined other children as young as kindergartners. Dishonest staff and a careless principal.

The teachers and staff at Clinton always go above and beyond for their students! They truly care about the children and the role they play in their lives. They support the families of their students and the family unit itself, by offering family learning activities.

I am having a difficult time with the special education dept. They are not willing to try new techniques unless I call an IEP meeting. I feel like I have to fight just to get the basic services my child needs.
