My kids have grown so much since attending. They have become critical thinkers and more independent. I love their teachers and all the staff is very friendly. My only real critique is some bullying has happened to my oldest kid. I'm hoping they can work on teaching all kids boundaries and respect. The faculty did intervene and notified us when the bullying happened. I know you can never take it out of a school completely in hopeful that my child won't have any problems next year. Thanks again to all the staff that makes this school amazing.

If you child is different in appearance or mental capabilities do not attend this school they will gladly give you seat to the next child in line rather that fix the problems. Administration changes every year, there has been no consistent guidance from staff. The campus monitors spend more time chatting with each other than look out for children's safety. IEP and SST and 504s are not followed effectively so the child has no clear understanding of which rules they choose to enforce that day. The constant bullying has made my once confident loving child afraid of social situations. And everyone gets to be on honor roll they give academic awards like candy. Lets say the bar is set very low.

My family’s experience has been phenomenal. We transitioned from a public school, where my son was bullied and administration never followed through. My son did not want to go to school, making up ailments, etc. He incurred a negative attitude towards school in general. He was not happy. Once we moved him, he carried that negativity over and was disinterested in the beginning. But improved in every facet on a daily basis. His grades show it. He went from a 1.56 to 2.58 to 3.04 and honor roll. He is happy, has friends and truly enjoys school! Even wanting to go when he is sick. And the staff is all so friendly and helpful. Right down to the morning side who greets the children at the gate. She always has a smile and a wave. Which sets the tone for the day.

Overall, with 2 kids in this school (so far), I have been quite pleased, and more-so lately. As a new school there were some growing pains early on, and I think that has led to some of the bad reviews. The school is a strong part of the community, and is always looking for more ways to be involved with the local happenings. There is a strong tendency toward continuous improvement, and everything is viewed as a learning and growing experience, whether good or bad. There is nothing worse than an organization that is convinced it is the best, because that's when progress stops. All of the school's staff and administration is focused on improving the student's lives through projects in the classroom, and programs outside of it as well.

I personally love this school!!! I see a lot of negative comments but I have strong feelings that a nearby school is commenting so it discourages others to coming here. There is nothing negative about this school. I am so incredibly blessed that my kids come here. All of the teachers are focused on hands on projects! I have a 2 kids that are in the lower grades and they both excel in math and both have a love for researching. I honestly believe its due to the curriculum. This school focuses on safety of your child. At first I was taken off guard by parents not entering the gates at the beginning of school but now that I've been here for 2 years, I am extremely thankful its that way. I love that its difficult for anyone to come on campus. I feel that this school is extremely safe! Ive been here for 2 years and so far I noticed that each year gets better and better. Im very happy that my kids go here. They are never going to leave. Ever.

I am not pleased, don’t feel comfortable and will be looking for a different school next year.

This school was the worst experience ever! So many bullies, bad teachers, and worst teaching methods. No proper books we given out and most students had to share! Currently we’ve switched schools and it’s way better then Next generation Steam Academy.

I have two children at this school. My youngest child was having a really hard time in math at the other school we were attending. When we came to NextGen in 2015, he had a wonderful teacher who helped him understand math. This year it is one of his favorite subjects and he is getting A's!My older son was having trouble with bullies and he has never had this experience at NextGen. They do a wonderful job of preventing bullying and should something come up, it is dealt with immediately. Coming to NextGen was one of the best decisions I made for my kids and I am so glad we are here. It is a wonderful school!

Next Generation STEAM Academy has a beautiful campus in a new development, but don't let it trick you. Their curriculum is supposed to be STEAM-based, meaning hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. It's not. It's a smaller school and this is their second year, but they already have a large teacher turnover rate. They only have a few good teachers that are overwhelmed with work. Micro-management by the administrators and lack of supplies are some of the issues teachers face. The teachers have to provide school necessities from their pockets. Next Generation STEAM Academy lacks teachers of different fields like Physical Education. This means the teachers have to teach all of the subjects. The yard duty positions are taken by the teachers as well. This setup of staff fails to help kids recognize the traits needed for high school, college, and any other transitional experiences. They are more worried about the conflict of traffic than equipping their school with more and/or better teachers and staff. Also, lack of communication plagues this campus, starting from the teachers and going up all the way to the administrators. As a parent trying to look out for the community, I'd like to tell you that the inefficiencies of the curriculum is no joke, and I would highly advise parents to refrain from enrolling their children in this academy to prevent any inequitable experiences.Looking at it with optimism, I believe that there is hope for the academy and that it will improve once it becomes more established.
