In my first year at this school I have noticed the teachers' ability to capture the attention of their students, although most of the students are" bored "and "tired" as ALWAYS, the teachers give their best to teach them. However, I do not agree with only having 4 class periods, as students we should adapt ourselves to a good preparation when entering college and not rely on having to finish a single classwork for an hour and a half. Also including more AP classes would greatly benefit learning. On the other hand, helping ELD students without get them overuse the translator, receiving the necessary support does not mean harming them when they are not getting the chance to learn on their own and be independent.

I went to LHS from 2008 to 2011. Since then, the school has made leaps and bounds in improving the overall experience for it's students. School spirit is phenomenal, academics has drastically improved and the music program has grown into a true art program. There are many other programs, but these are the ones I'm aware of. The teachers truly care about their student's education. At the end of the day, the success of a student depends on the support they receive, both in class and at home. Pay attention to the classes your kid is taking and make sure they are on top of their school work. Go to their counseling meetings to make sure your child is taking the classes needed to get into college. Get them involved in at least one of the many programs at this school and I guarantee you he/she will perform well.

This school has a great campus, and the violence in this school is extremely low, if not none. One issue I have with this school is JROTC. I feel like this school's JROTC program could be much better than it is now. Proper JROTC events and uniforms and customs are taken less seriously than it should be.Other than that, Awesome school!! GO SPARTANS!!!!

As parents, we have met many amazing young students and athletes, dedicated coaches and teachers, as well as determined administrators at Lathrop High School. We have been impressed with the character of the students we have come in contact with and are thrilled to have met parents that care not only about their student, but the success of the school now and in years to come. It is exciting to see Lathrop grow and break out of the "new school" phase and begin making its mark with achievements and accolades within the school district! Keep it up LHS! GO SPARTANS!

This school has many problems. From teachers embarrassing their students in front of their peers to poorly instructing them. This school in my opinion is very dangerous and should be avoided unless you are interested in the Game Design program.

I've have a question to a teacher P,T way of doing things in MUSD. From embarrassing students in front of peers, overlooking teasing of peers, to complete negligence may resulting in injury to the student. At Lathrop high school. his job is suppose to encourage their students to become successful not failures.Let them know that it's bad enough that kids do it to each other and when a teacher who's a roll model does it's even worse . There are some wonderful teachers as well in MUSD so i cannot knock them all

I've had a few disagreements with a few teachers way of doing things in MUSD. From embarrassing students in front of peers, overlooking teasing of peers, to complete negligence resulting in injury. Not just at Lathrop high but a couple of the elementary schools as well. There are some wonderful teachers as well in MUSD so i cannot knock them all. As far as the athletics at Lathrop High I do agree with the November 4, 2012 poster. In every sport it seems the excuse for ALL the losses are "It's a new school". I'm not buying it. Kimball is also a new school but their record has tremendously improved. I have heard the "new school" excuse from referees, other school administrators, as well as parents from around the MUSD area. I really wish they would become the powerhouse that we would all love them to be! There is a ton of parental support that I have seen and been involved with at this school. Unfortunately my children have asked several times to be trnsferred to other "winning" schools so their talent can be heightened. It's embarrassing to attend a game where you see the opposing team giving the Spartans freebies to boost their spirits. I hope there is improvement.

Your comments regarding the Varsity Football Coach is disrespectful and out of line. This is the lack of support that hurts our athletics, school and community. Try something different, like get involved and help make things better instead of being that negative person that thinks only your way is the best way. This Varsity football coach has been coaching for 30 years with many awards for his coaching ability. Why dont you sit down with the coach , you might learn something, like how to be respectful and honest. He teaches these youngsters how to be leaders, how to treat people with dignity and respect. We will be a power house! the MUSD and admin needs to fight for boundries so our talent stays in Lathrop. BE A LEADER! Help build a stronger School and Community by getting involved.

I Feel like it's about time the Atheletic Director and MUSD Finally realize that it's time to FIND A NEW FOOTBALL Coach for the VARSITY. I could understand how it was a New School in 2009 but now it's the 2012-2013 School year and whats the excuse now for 0-10 record. I think the kids deserve to see what it's like to be PROUD of their Team and School and walk with PRIDE rather than with SHAME and be blamed for it. Just read the Manteca Bulletin and it was a Great refelection on how the Coach takes no responsibility for all the LOSES not only this year but since 2009. I hope MUSD will realize it's time for a NEW BEGINNING For these students and school to really know what it feels like to treated with respect rather than SHAME due to the HEAD VARSITY COACH. The kids are only following his instructions and plays ... My question is....how many more years will it take for MUSD to see the real TRUTH. GO SPARTANS!!!

This site has removed my comments and I agreed with their action that I should not have been that specific. I have legitimate reasons to tell you that this a horrible school. I am very disappointed at MUSD. You should enroll your children somewhere else. I have a child born and raised in Lathrop. She is a Valedictorian of Class of 2012 and she got into an Ivy League university. I am telling you this. Joseph Widmer is excellent though. Her experience at Lathrop High was terrifying. The school has tried their best not to support but to shatter her Ivy League dream. They were so disappointed with the admission results and had ruined her graduation.
