Staff acts clueless when you have a complaint. The classrooms are not heated very well theyre so hot you will sweat while just sitting. My daughter even complains of headaches an tummy aches. I observed my daughters class one day for 2 hours and one little boy just layed on the floor and upon being asked to get up he said "Its cool down here" and the teacher wnet onwith her lesson. Meetings with teachers go with you notbeing heard. When there is an assembly the same old broken microphone will be used where it will just not work and you cant hear what anyone is saying. theyv had that one for the past 2 years. Parents will be in a hot overcrowded multipurpose room for duration of assembly. Your child may be punished unwillingly by aftercare staff or even lost on a school bus when supposed flyers went out the day before!

The few months my child has been there, it has been an adventure. The adjustment was rough, but we were able to push though. The only issue is class size. It is larger than I would like.

Moved to a neighboring area and enrolled my child in KG. Principal Turman is always walking the school, which I can appreciate. I also see the VP always interacting with the teachers, smiling and happy throughout the day. The ladies in the front office are very professional and polite. Everyone does their jobs very well. I can say I had high expectations for my child's education, especially in PG county. I too was a PG county student K-12 and my experience overall was very mediocre. But don't leave it only up to the institute to educate your child, as parents we must involve ourselves. Get to know the school, the teachers, classmates...volunteer your time! My little one started in one teachers class (whom I wasn't so pleased with after viewing how she dealt with the class) and shortly after the school year began, thankfully upgraded to Ms. Davis, Ms. King, and Mrs. Major amazing class. I love those ladies and appreciate their hard work. I felt completely comfortable with leaving my child's developing young mind in their hands. If only I can take them with her as she progresses through her elementary years. The staff members that direct school buses and parents during drop off and pick ups are great! And let me not forget the countless staff members that I walk pass every morning and afternoon to see my child to class... they always speak "good morning" "hello" "enjoy your day" "have a good weekend"... and it continues always followed with a smile! Keep it up Cora Rice Elementary!!!!!!

This school gets bad rep because of the location however teachers and officials are very caring. School is new and easily accessible, we must not forget us as parents that need to complement school education.

This is a great school with great faculty. Gets a bad rap like everything in Prince George's County.

My children have been attending Cora L Rice elementary for the last two years. I could be no more happy with the staff there. It is indeed a family atmosphere. They truly look out for my children to strive.

As of the 2013-2014 school year all four of our children are attending Core L.Rice Elementary. For the last three school years I have entrusted this school with the education of my children. The staff keeps me well informed and on top of any issues. My children have received county level academic awards and continually land on the principal's honor roll list. With proper backing and attention from a child's loved ones at home and school there is no reason Cora L. Rice Elementary would not be ranked with top level public schools in the nation. Mr.Landers

I feel that Cora L. Rice is this best school my son ever attend. All of the teachers are outstanding. We just need more parent involvement.
