La verdad, es un desorden sin control a la hora de recoger a los niños, falta mucha siguen el parkin lot, las personas no respetan los desabilty parking, se paran donde les da la gana y nunca nadie les llama la atención: parecen animales y sin autoridad alguna.

I have been very happy with Valleyview Elementary School. My kid started kindergarten here and I couldn't be more happy that this is his school. He's been telling me he loves school every single day. His teacher has an app to communicate with parents everyday. I'm well aware what is happening at school and what is expected. There are so many projects his teacher planned out for the class throughout the year and parents in this school are very on top of supporting school projects. His teacher sends home many learning materials consistently to support kids' learning at home. In addition, one school iPad is sent home everyday. This school also really encourages reading. My kid started AR soon after kindergarten started and they have treasure chest and many other rewards system to encourage kids to read. My experience with Valleyview Elementary School is 100% positive. I am the type of the parent that value children's education as top priority. I couldn't be happier that I sent my kid to Valleyview Elementary School. Absolutely love this school and appreciate my kid's teacher's hard work.

This is a pretty decent school when you compare it to others in Lakeland and then again FL as a whole. But I wish there was better and more productive school/teacher and parent communication. This is the 1st school I have been involved with that does not conduct routine parent-teacher conferences. Without getting parents involved and know what is going on within their child's learning environment, I couldn't imagine the inconsistency that they must deal with behind closed doors. School conferences get parents involved, help fill in some educational gaps, and allow you to see the environment and meet all involved where your child spends more than half of their day. I have never met most of the staff involved with my child's daily learning environment because of this and honestly it is a concern. This school does not have much going on for extracurricular actives, community involvement, or advancement opportunities. Bare minimum. The Science lab has been shut down for a few years. Teachers often ask for educational supplies needed for any special projects. These are just a few examples. I might just know better because my children have been in some fantastic schools in the past. But I am not quite sure why this school has such a high score...or if those other schools are just so terrible that they can't compare. This school could do better. Mrs Riley is a great leader, but I wish the school as a whole was something more to brag about.

We moved from Sunset Lakes Elementary in south Florida 2 years ago. We were very concerned because the kids were coming from such a great school that Valleyview would be a step down, but they have exceeded our expectations. I have three children in Valleyview and they are excelling in all areas due to the teachers here. My oldest two are both in advanced classes and have passed one or both portions of the ACCEL testing and my little one will be tested this year. We feel very fortunate to have found such a great school for the kids and really love the teachers here.

My son attended from second to fifth grade and he had a positive experience. Teachers readily answered questions I had and the PTA is welcoming.

They should rename this school to BullySchool. This school use to be a great school 20 years ago but the last 5 years it's more concerned about it's scores. Just check your child for bruises each day, take photos, get a lawyer & go to your child doctor. If you have a meeting with them words seem to get twisted around to protect themselves. Bring a lawyer or record the interview of course letting them know first.

My son was at Valleyview for kindergarten, and now is attending first grade here. The office staff can be a bit prickly at times, but I've learned that once you can get past their "wall", they're actually incredibly pleasant, funny, helpful people! We have a new principal this year, so I can't speak to that yet. But the Assistant (Mrs. Rogers) is absolutely amazing and always has a smile on her face. Our son is too young yet for state testing, but he finished his kindergarten year far ahead of where I'd hoped he would. We transfer to Valleyview since we're "out of zone"...and I will continue to do so as long as my son's in elementary school.

My 2 sons went to this school, the oldest from K-2 and my youngest for just K. For my oldest they never followed his IEP, never even read it until my wife brought it up. He was bullied, had 3 different teachers last year (it appears that if you are a qualified teacher you leave this school as soon as you get a chance). When we would request a meeting with the staff they would get defensive and try to blame my child for every issue, I'm not saying my child is perfect, but if there is an issue they should inform me so I can correct it, not use it as an excuse. A quote from my kindergartener was "I hope I can go to Scott Lake so people will be nice to me". I could go on and on, just so glad we are done with this school. If you are considering this school do your research and know what you are getting yourself in to.

My son has doctors and therapists that recommend certain things for my son and the school refuses to try it because it is a "recommendation". This school puts off IEP meetings and has no interest in any child other than the overachiever. Terrible school.

We have been at this school for my child's 2nd 3rd 4th grade years. I also find the staff unfriendly and uncooperative. Teachers and office staff. They are only worried about FCAT scores.NOT the overall well being of the child or if they are struggling and or retaining information and need help . Calls are not returned promptly. Complete lack of compassion for each child's individual needs. You must fit into a perfect square box here. I can not get out of this school fast enough. I have talked to several other moms with the same experience as my self and mentioned below. This school is NOT what it portrays to be AT ALL!
