i am so grateful to this school and everything they have done to ensure my child’s success. he was at a different school last year and really struggled. in the beginning of the year i had a meeting with his teacher and guidance counselor at the time to go over some accommodations that could potentially help him, but there was never any follow up or communication as his grades and behavior continued to plummet. after moving to the area i enrolled my son into highlands grove, and oh my gosh what a difference this school has made. i had the same kind of meeting with his current teachers and guidance counselor as i did at his previous school, only this time everyone was very receptive and actually willing to listen to what i had to say. not only did they listen, but they made a genuine effort to see what works for him and make those small changes which ended up making such a huge difference. his behavior is better than it has ever been, and he even made the A+ honor roll on his most recent report card!!this school has truly been an absolute blessing in more ways than one.

10/10. We could not have wished for a better public school primary education for our child. I have raised a child in the public school system in various counties within FL. Highlands Grove has been the most engaging and communicative I have experienced as a parent.

Highland Grove Elementary is an awesome school! Everyone is kind and compassionate. My child loves school, and she feels loved, safe, and is learning by leaps and bounds! She didn’t want to take off for Spring or Summer Break(s). She’s counting the days until she goes to second grade.

Highlands Grove Elementary is an incredible place to send my child. I am more than satisfied with the collective efforts put forth in educating my child. The administration is visible and actively involved with the parents and students. The secretaries are efficient and friendly. Guidance and the nurse are readily available to meet the needs of the children. The teachers are highly qualified and eager to teach. The cafeteria is a pleasant place to eat and socialize. The grounds and classroom are clean, orderly, and beautiful to look at. The support staff goes above and beyond the call of duty. The children have opportunities weekly for the arts. Physical education is fun yet challenging. HGE meets the needs of ALL children from the struggling child to the gifted. They offer many extracurricular opportunities as well like chess, ITV, chorus, strings, Japanese, and much, much more. I am thankful for ALL HGE has done for my child and will miss this school greatly as my child moves on to 6th grade next year.

Highlands Grove Elementary is a high energy, loving, and academically challenging school in South Lakeland. This school goes above and beyond making sure each child succeeds the expectations of his/her grade level, then pushes harder when the children reach their goals. I am a very proud parent, and would be lost without the love from the teachers and staff.

Highlands Grove, in existence five years (since 2007), is a great school for all students. They have made great improvements in struggling students and provided great challenges for excelling students. They have maintained a state "A" rating all five years. They search for ways to help all children "belong" and love school. Discipline, structure and standards are important here. Parents are welcome to participate in many activities. The school climate is warm, happy, supportive, fun.
