My daughters have attended St. Perpetua since Transitional Kindergarten and we have been blessed to have a solid community of parents, teachers and strong leadership. The teachers keep the students engaged and hold them accountable for their schoolwork and behavior. The parents have an effective fundraising campaign that addresses gaps in the school and St. P's leadership consistently collaborates with different stakeholders. This is a great school and we are fortunate to have it in the LaMorinda community.

Hands down 5 stars! Our experience at St Perpetua School has undeniably been the best for both my kids. This week I had an 8th grader graduate and the past 6 years at St. P's have built long lasting memories due to the great community of teachers/staff, parents, students and education. Wish we would have started in TK! Molly Gotchet, our principal is the best and her vision to make each student's experience on campus the best shows great leadership and dedication.

The school is amazing! The faculty and staff of the school are some of the most supportive people we've ever encountered. They have top notch technology and teachers that lay an educational foundation for our children that is not found in most schools. I can't recommend St. Perpetua's Community, parish, inclusiveness more. If you're looking for a quality education, this is where you should send your children. Our kids have been there since TK and we look forward to many more years at St. Perpetua.

St Perpetua is a hidden gem in Lafayette. Families come from not just lumber in there but all over the area too. Great family community. The older grades truly help boost up the younger ones. Teachers are excellent and many long-term. Families stay for years and years there. Can't recommend it enough.

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t have sent my children to St. P’s.Academically, the school can’t keep-up with the excellent local public schools. The ideals of the Catholic Church aren’t readily apparent; while there are some service-oriented projects that the students participate in, the overall behavior standard at the school is sub-par at best. There are far better private schools in the area.

Wonderful, small school where the administrators know the names of your children. Teachers get to know the families and that builds greater and more encompassing understanding of what my children need. The new principal is very engaged in a hands on way with the entire staff including administrators and most importantly, with the kids. Not many schools have the teachers *and* principal actively helping your kids out of their cars in morning drop off and ensuring their safety to that extra detail. It is a private school that is managing to keep one class per grade, and is actively expanding their programs to accomodate the changing times. They were one of the first to reopen in a safe and effective way during the pandemic, and we couldn’t be happier. Education in general in America is challenged by lack of resources, and the school administration works very hard to find a way to meet the needs of their students and their families. Families are also very involved and supportive of making the community a great one for their kids.

Our family loves St. Perpetua. The teachers are engaged, invested and work VERY hard. The new Principal is smart, enthusiastic and here to serve. We had one child graduate from St. Perpetua and another who is still there. Our child who is now a sophomore in high school was exceptionally well prepared for high school. There are many enrichment programs available to all grades - Spanish, music, art, and our beautiful Garden of Learning. Additionally, the school has a math program that breaks students into small groups beginning in 4th grade. The school's mission to educate the whole child is evident in everything they do. I can't say enough good about the school.

Our children attended St Perpetua for several years. It started out great. Smaller class sizes, teachers that were engaged with both students and parents to ensure the child's success, and a supportive administration. Over time that changed. The class sizes dramatically increased (some to 34 students) while at the same time they cut staff. Very quickly the administration was not supporting the teachers, teachers were frustrated, and kids suffered. I cannot tell you the number of times a teacher or support person told us "we just don't have the resources anymore." As a result, high turnover set in, including the principal who resigned after 14 years without her next steps in place. The school needs to revisit/revise its mission statement and determine who they are and how they are going to serve the students. Our kids, however, do not need to be a part of their rebuilding process. We were very sad to leave, but it was the right thing for our family. We have found a new community that has an administration and teaching staff that is engaged and joyful, and has a more modern teaching curriculum.

Not a great administration or education system.

As a recent family to St. Perpetua, we could not be happier. The small, faith based community environment is so welcoming and nurturing, and the schoolwork academically challenging. The staff and teacher's dedication for keeping the kids safe and engaged could not be better. We are so grateful we made the change to St. P's.

Choosing St Perpetua School is the best decision we have made! We love this school and all that it offers. If you're looking for a small, faith-based school where your child will get the attention they need and a top notch education in a nice, safe setting....this is the school for you.

The school has an amazing staff from administrative, teachers and after school care. Most teachers know the names of almost every child in the school which is such a pleasure. So if you are looking for a small and safe environment this is a great option in Lamorinda. In addition the community of parents is very strong and involved with the kids on a daily basis. Our children are learning the important values of being a Catholic, as they focus on community, faith, giving back and accepting all people regardless of who they are. I highly recommend this school if you are looking for a safe environment with a great community behind it.

As a working mom of three kids, I feel at peace knowing my kids are cared for and academically challenged! The school continues to put their effort into moving forward and technology, Math, Science with new curricums and openness to innovative ideas! Love their focus also on student presentation projects, Science Fair, outreach, and ability for parents to become involved too;) middle school years developmentally are special, I have watched teachers who have been there for many years- help them navigate through the transformations that are necessary for high school and teenage years. Love it. Thank you St P!

The Transitional Kindergarten program was perfect for our child that was not ready for Kindergarten. The TK teachers had a structured curriculum and created a loving environment for our child. He was beyond ready his first day of Kindergarten because of the TK program and we couldn't have been more happy with it. Our other child at St .P's is becoming a well-rounded individual and we are happy with his highly educated teacher. We feel blessed and lucky to have our kids at St. P's.

We are very pleased with St Perpetua. We currently have two children at the school. The teachers are great educators and dedicate to the kids and school. The community has been warm and welcoming. It is the right balance of education and religion. The children learn how to be good people while receiving a great education. The principal is a constant learner and focused on providing the best education for the kids. Her background in both parochial and public school education has been an asset in helping provide a well rounded education and environment for all kids of learners.

We have attended St. Perpetua school for some time and were shocked to see that they are planning on installing a cell tower on the church/school campus right by where our kids play each day. If you are concerned about exposing your child to the possible harmful effects of this cell tower, please make sure to investigate the risks before enrolling your kids.

Our children went here for longer than they should have. The tuition was fine, the teachers were good, but the parents were really into gossip, and competitive with their children. We moved to another private school and have had no more issues. We kept none of the friendships from this school, and the kids don t ask about their former classmates, (that tells you something right there). There was a lot of student and staff turnover. We knew families that said they were happy there, but if we run into them now they have moved their children as well. We did our homework on schools, but sometimes you just can t tell until you experience it for yourself. If you decide to give this school a try; don t share more than you are willing to have the entire school know, because it will travel around the campus in about 24 hours! I was pretty shocked at some of the late night phone calls I received to update me on school yard gossip.
