2 of my 3 children have graduated from LT and 1 will start there soon. The ones who have gone to LT have found it to be challenging, supportive, full of caring teachers and staff, and a HUGE number of classes to choose from. They have gone on to be successful in college and ultimately that's what the goal is: to be successful in what comes AFTER high school. Lyons Township HS provided my kids with the tools to be successful after leaving, and one of my kids actually said that he seemed better prepared for college than some of his current classmates at his university.

This school was rated 10/10 but has now dropped to 7/10. Why has it dropped? It is because the school now allows students to redo assignments and tests until they get the grade they want. Students have their phones in classes and can look up answers during exams and do not have to do work if they don't feel like it. Teachers are not supported, students are not prepared for what they will encounter in college and in the workforce. Not sure who is behind this free spirit method of teaching but hopefully this cycle will move on soon and the school will be able to regain the trust of the community and its high rating.

I attended LT and loved my experience there. Now my son is a freshman and is really excited about classes that he wasn’t before. He really likes most of his teachers and says they are helpful and supportive. LT offers a lot of class options and I feel is geared towards individual exploration of interests.

This high school is divided into two buildings, and the south building is at ~47th & Willow Springs Road, with the north building at ~39th & Brainard. I put five (5) kids through that school, with the final 2 of them going into their senior years next year in the fall of 2021, class of 2022 and here’s what matters:South: the freshman & sophomore building has a very different culture than north, full of nicotine vaping & Juuls and typical high school drugs BUT it is run very well in spite of that and further the teachers and the administration care so much about the kids that it hurts! Each class is sectioned and each kid is given an advisor that each kid has for their entire time, and also each kid is given their own assistant principal. This dramatically and quickly brings stability to an otherwise chaotic move into high school. The teaching is very, very good with tons of teachers having been there for 8+ years or more, but only bc they are good teachers. This school kicks out the bad teachers. Each of my 5 kids are very grateful for their time at South. At North, the junior & senior building, everything becomes far more adult. The chaos is noticeably absent, and kids who don’t start to wise up and act much much more like an adult really don’t get to belong not bc of tue adults there, but each kid there recognizes that this is gonna be different, that they get to be treated like an adult, and they’re not about to let a few kids pull everyone down. It’s that “good” kind of peer pressure that helps kids to understand that they need to get their act together and grow up to be taken seriously.

I went to LTHS all four years. Great school to say the least, hundreds of clubs and activities. they do care. My reason to put 4 stars is because the assistant principals. Most of them are garbage. They do not care about you, half of them were not teachers or educators of any kind prior to being an assistant principal. In my years there, only one assistant principal was beyond amazing. Mrs.Costapolis (sorry if spelled wrong) she was nothing short of amazing, absolutely cared about every student, would go out of her way to help.

Many great teachers, some who have really helped my shy student open up. The other staff are of varying quality, although most are intelligent and considerate.

Great school with such amazing and supportive staff! LT has some of the most superior teachers in the state that go above and beyond for their students. I developed strong bonds with several of my teachers while attending to make my experience more enjoyable and productive. High School is a difficult time for a teenager and the special and specifc attention I received at LT really helped that trasitionary period be smoother and easier.

LT is a great school that provides us with excellent classes and extra-curricular activities! I also like how you have to take responsibility for what you have to do instead of being treated like little kids!! As far as the teachers and principals not telling the parents that the student is failing is completely and utterly the students fault for one not working as hard as the teachers want an two there is no need for a teacher calling a parent when the student is a teenager and should take full responsibility for there grades and turning in work that they forgot or missed!!! The teachers don't make it that hard to be consistent with the work and they show you how to take responsibility for one of the only thing you have to work for! Your Education.

The school itself is good as far as eduacation but some of their policies are very stupid. They suspend people for little things and treat it like the school is in a bad neighborhood by having police there 24/7. The principals are not very nice and take everything way too seriously.

I can't wait to send my two boys to LTHS! They haven't even started preschool yet, but I'm excited and will be so proud to be sending them to the school I graduated from. I feel it's a great school and say with pride that I'm an LT alumni!

I would love to send my son to this school. This is where his older sisters graduated and where I attended. He, unfortunately, goes to Proviso West High School. Just horrible.

Worst school ever! Terrible! Never sending any of my kids there again! Everything was just terrible from the teachers to the principal. My kid almost failed and no one bother to tell me! I am disgusted at this school!
