I can not say enough great things about Hillside school and learning center. My son was struggling at his previous schools for a variety of reasons. At Hillside the staff and faculty took the time and effort to find a way to connect with my son and teach him in a way that worked, He soon started to succeed, liked the feeling and got enthusiastic about learning! He’s going to college now and loving it, Thanks Hillside!!!

Hillside was a perfect school for each of our four teens; some attended summer school to meet academic/enrichment goals, another utilized tutoring to remedy a language teacher's long term absence at their high school, and a couple attended junior high and high school when they needed a smaller and more supportive environment. Hillside has the right mindset to meet students exactly where they are and to support them in their goals. All our children are adults now and have positive memories of their individual experiences at Hillside. We recommend taking a look at Hillside if you are looking for a more personalized experience.

This school was exactly what my child needed. It offered a safe and supportive environment where he could gain confidence and get a good education. The school is very small and offers an individual educational approach. My child graduated with an educational goal and the drive to work towards it thanks to the care and attention of the faculty and staff.

GREAT school. Our son attended and graduated from 8th grade last year at the Hillside School and loved it. The school, with its' supportive staff, restored his self-esteem and joy in learning. It is a very small school with very personal attention to your child and his/her needs. I would highly recommend scheduling a tour if your child is not flourishing in a traditional setting.

Hillside school was exactly the type of school I was searching for when my 16 year old son needed to transfer mid-year. Hillside is a smaller private school that caters to families who are seeking an "alternative" to traditional high school. The school is popular with La Canada High School students seeking night or summer classes as well. Bob Frank, the director, leads the school in a very personal and caring manner. He is attentive to every parent and student. He is always available to speak with parents for any concerns they may have. Academic program here is solid. College counseling is highly regarded for those students who are college bound. Onsite counseling/therapy is another option. Overall, I would highly recommend this school.
