Crestview is such a wonderful place for children to learn. We have 2 kids at Crestview and each has had a wonderful experience learning in a safe and nurturing environment where they feel supported and loved. From the moment we visited Crestview we noticed that the staff, teachers and the Head of School genuinely care about educating the whole child and respecting childhood and this has been apparent throughout our time here. The teachers are attentive to each child. The Head of School, teachers and staff maintain an inclusive, fun and nurturing environment where it is a joy to learn. We are so grateful to be part of the Crestview Community.

Finding the right school for your kids can feel daunting and overwhelming. After friends told us to tour Crestview, we immediately knew we had found “the one.” Crestview exudes everything we had been searching for: focus on social emotional development and health, academic excellence, meaningful values, and a welcoming community of teachers, administration, and families. Our son was the “new kid” entering in a later grade, but he never felt new. He was welcomed and embraced immediately. They immediately understood his needs and motivations, and helped him thrive. Our daughter joined the following year for Kinder, only reaffirming the choice we made to be a Crestview Family. If you have the opportunity to visit, I highly recommend that you do. We are so happy we did.

We are so glad we chose Crestview. We now have three children there who love going to school every single day. Crestview blends strong academics with a warm, nurturing environment. Teachers and administration truly know the children. This makes all the difference. We are grateful to be part of this community!

Choosing Crestview as our children’s elementary school was one of the most important and yet clear choices we have made in our parenting lives. I actually attended Crestview in its early days – graduating in 1993 – and for my entire life have remembered the kind teachers and creative educational opportunities that were present as far back as then. Since then, Crestview has transformed itself even more into the perfect combination of academic rigor, social and emotional nurturance, warm and supportive teachers and staff, and having the most incredibly competent and caring Head of School. Crestview is a diamond in this community, as the small class sizes and individualized approach for each student allows a safe space for children to learn and develop. The classroom projects are fun and engaging and my daughter is always excited to see her learning objectives come to life with creative and interactive activities. The enrichment opportunities are extremely well developed, and the extracurricular activities make even after school extremely fun! My daughter has been at Crestview for the past three years and wakes up every day excited to get to school. My son is starting this Fall and from his first day of orientation has already begged for school to start. As a parent there is simply no better endorsement, and there are not enough words to express our gratitude and joy at the opportunities, education, and support that Crestview has provided our family.

If you are looking for an unpretentious yet academically excellent small school, Crestview is the right place. It has all the positive factors of a private school, such as small class size, enrichment activities such as a stellar debate program, and academic rigor. But it has the inviting, warm and innocent environment of a small town elementary school. The price is also much better then other local privates. Having 3 children go through the elementary process, everyday was a good day. They wanted to be at Crestview- it is a supportive, positive, caring and childhood friendly school I strongly recommend Crestview to anyone who wants a home that is warm, challenging, happy, and supportive for your child.

Crestview Prep is an exceptional school. We had three children graduate from the school and they were nurtured, supported and challenged academically. The teachers are amazing, taking the time to get to know every child, and the head of school and administration are knowledgeable, professional, and loved by students, teachers, and parents. The school is a gem, and we *highly* recommend it.

Crestview is a special place. Enrolling our kids here has been one of the best decisions our family has made. We have been a part of this amazing community for the past four years, and it has had such a positive impact on who our kids have become. For our kids, the school offers the perfect balance of academic excellence and extracurricular activities (music, debate, mindfulness) that allow them to explore their personal interests. The Head of School, teachers and staff are wonderful. They genuinely know and care about each and every student, and value their individuality. They also provide incredible support during the application process to middle schools. We couldn’t be happier with the education, growth, care and friendships that Crestview has provided our kids.

Crestview delivers a rare harmony of social and emotional learning with academic excellence. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and kind, and the administration knows and cares about every child. The community is friendly and inclusive. The small size of the school allows for more individualized learning. All decisions are made based on the children's needs and best interests. There is lots of parent education, including parent talks by the amazing Head of School that are personalized to each grade.

I should admit we are picky parents but we love this school. It is a close community and you are accepted in it right away regardless of your nationality, religion, race, financial status, e.t.c. Parents are very well educated and humble at the same time. Your kid will have such a fun time at the school while they are learning at the same time. Our daughter is so sad when she can't go to school due to sickness or around holidays. Academically it is advanced as well. Our kid is receiving great social and emotional development while developing academically. She can express herself extremely well both written and verbal. She is no longer shy. She can resolve conflict without my help and she can negotiate for a win/win outcome. She learned all these skills at Crestview prep in one year. Academically, our kid is learning to think than memorizing. We love this school and we are very happy with our selection a year ago by sending our daughter to this school. I would strongly suggest this school to all parents who are looking for equal style education

Our child went through the Crestview program from K all the way through 6. We loved it and our child loved it. We have close friendships with other parents with whom we socialize often--everything from having dinner, to board game nights, to camping. And our kid has a whole passel of friends who are very friendly, articulate, and just plain nice kids. There are no cliques, and the children get along with each other very well. Our child's Crestview education helped him to become a well-rounded student. In 6th grade, the school--particularly the Head of School, Marie Kidd--was excellent with the transition/application process. He applied to a few schools and got in everywhere. (As an aside: Marie Kidd knows everyone--the other heads of school, the other admissions directors, etc. She's a great resource during the admissions season.)

My son and daughter attended Crestview Preparatory School from 1998-2006. Crestview was always my top choice for elementary school for several reasons. The physical plant reminded me of my elementary school with the large classrooms and the high windows and the big play yard in the front that looks like a park. The teachers and staff were warm and inviting and the parents were a great mix of people who truly cared about their children's education, and were interested in building a community together. Academics were certainly stressed, but in an environment that encouraged learning and created excitement and curiosity to enjoy learning and solving problems. The children were taught to be respectful, polite and work hard, but nurtured and developed to be individuals. At Crestview, 6th graders can be leaders to the younger grades, but still feel comfortable playing out in the field without the early adolescent attitudes and influences that middle schoolers bring. Although the academics can be challenging, even in 6th grade there is still time for personal attention by the teachers to develop those critical writing and research skills so important for grades 7-12.

Crestview is very nurturing to the young student. It may not be the best in academics, but its caring and community are optimal. The thing that most drives students to come are the excellent teachers and compassionate community. However, I believe this school lacks in terms of academics and leadership. The academics of the school are about average compared to the private schools in the grouping, and with public La Canada schools. Also, the school is too money hungry. It raises the price of tuition almost every year, and subtly pushes parents to give loads of money to the school. This is why I believe Crestview is losing students each year. - Alumni

Although it may not be one of the best schools, I believe it provides an environment that gives their students the proper education and foundation to exceed within their respective academic experience.

We are new to Crestview but not to the Los Angeles private schools. We have two older kids in competitive private upper schools in the area, and spent a number of years at Campbell Hall. Crestview was described to me as a "hidden gem", and that is exactly what it is. I have twins in Kindergarten this year and cannot believe the amazing teaching staff and individualized attention they are getting. Class sizes under 20, and two phenomenal lead teachers per class. "School" to them is a warm, nurturing place where adults and kids of all grades know and encourage them. The families are economically and ethnically diverse, but all committed to their kids being part of a supportive and grounded elementary experience. While Crestview has a small school feel (with a significantly lower tuition that reflects this), it offers many enrichment activities (music, art, great P.E./ sports program, Spanish, after school clubs, amazing librarian!, etc.). For me, Crestview offers what many LA schools have not- a grounded, caring, academic setting where childhood is preserved for as long as possible and kids are well prepared and confident in taking their next steps. Thanks Crestview!

We are constantly struggling with wanting to pull our child out of this school. Teacher quality is inconsistent, academics not better than the area public schools, but teacher/child ratio is good, unlike the publics. Art, music and PE are also pretty nice. Parents have clicques they hang out with and one doesn't get a feeling of inclusion. Children here aren't real friendly and inclusive as well. I hear reports of children behaving not so nice and getting away with it from other parents all the time. The office pesonnel and the administration have been pretty nice. The campus is old and there is no muti-purpose rm/gym. The play yard is ok.

The teachers here are excellent, the academics is excellent, the head staff is excellent. What's not to like about this excellent school? I've been here for 5 years and I have learned so much. I know this school will prepare me for middle school and beyond. This school is extremely fun and most of all the principle is a cool, and truly amazing lady!

I am a parent with a child at this school. We are very pleased. The head of the school is fantastic. The campus is a good size with a strong community feeling. Our overall experience with academics, art, music and physical education is excellent.
