This school continues to be a shining star. New administration 1 year ago is adding to the improvements made with Dr. Cutter. Michelle Harper is so great . She knows it is hidden gem wi5 students feeling a part of the family. So many teachers know all the students in the school as it is a smaller school compared to others. Such a caring environment. My children have thrived. Mrs. Harper excelled during the pandemic year. School cared so much that community partners helped with food critical families and checking on kids. it is truly a family school.LOVE LOVE this school. They have a family program where every student is paired with a staff member and other kids to foster friendships, avcountability and further educational, opportunities. best school !!

I have been presently surprise by Mount Olive. There are a lot of young teachers really trying to help their students.

We loved this school. It has a more small-town, community feel than the elementary school I attended in a small town growing up. They have great art, music, and physical education teachers who really plug in to offer the kids a lot of opportunities to show what they learn in those encore classes. They have many long-time teachers who also grew up in South Knoxville and many even attended MOES themselves or their kids did.

A wonderful experience! Staff and teachers are great. There is a loving environment and everyone really cares about the kids. Yes test scores are lower but the school is more than 50% above poverty and the scores are in line with other schools of similar poverty levels. The teachers try really hard for everyone and that is what really matters. I am so happy to have my 2 girls going through Mount Olive!!!

Mt. Olive is a nurturing, positive environment. Children here are encouraged and loved. The new administrator is amazing, and the school boasts a staff of highly educated, compassionate, 5-star teachers. We have called "MOES" home for almost 6 years and I will miss our Mt. Olive Elementary School family next year when my student moves on.

I recently moved and had my children zoned to this school. I know people that went there as children and had heard nothing bad about it when they were enrolled. My problem is that I am an atheist and I bring my children up with a mindset of "Everyone has an opinion on religion and no one is wrong. Religion is just that, an opinion". But they both get ridiculed for it. It is mostly by students but I feel Mt. Olive nurtures this environment. I see the evidence in the songs the make them sing in music and they way they approach hard to answer questions. I am in the processes of putting a stop to this even though my children are being removed form the school upon my request.
