We had a rocky start at NG, but in 2020, under new leadership, we are so impressed with the turn around. My kids love going to school, they are supported for their learning differences with extra attention in their different areas of struggle. NG is helping my kids exceed grade level expectations while supporting them mentally in a very challenging pandemic year.

We recently moved to the area from Seattle. NG is leaps and bounds above anything we ever saw in Seattle. The student to teacher ratio is amazing. The number of recesses and approach to homework is so refreshing. Our son has THRIVED there, even with some known behavioral problems. He is happy and adjusted, reading above grade level, excelling at math. He tells us every day how much he loves school and everyone at NG. We could not be happier. *note I've never had to deal with leadership or administration so I cannot comment on those aspects of the school*

We are overjoyed to be apart of this community. N. Glendale is leaps and bounds above other local schools in so many areas.

We are relocating and are in search of another home in a another city. This was the first time I ever read about our home school and was shocked to read any bad comments. I assumed they would be glowing reviews. Dr. Benben (our principal) is amazing and so warm with all children. The kids/staff/parents adore home! We feel so lucky. Staff from other local grade schools in our strong district flock to him because he is so wonderful to work with. We are so sad to leave and worry about finding another school as comparable. This little school has grown with leaps and bounds. People want to live in our area because of it. North Glendale is an extension of our community with it being the only public grade school in our town. When the Jazz Fest, Ice Cream Social and many other events occur, your child will see their classmates and run with them freely in this safe little 'Mayberry' town. If you want someone to truly love your children and do everything possible to protect them and help them succeed- Dr. Benben will be that person. We love NG!

We completely agree with Sept. 21, 2014 and Jan. 3, 2016 posts. We strongly encourage those with concerns to contact the District Office like we did. The more they are made aware of the issues, the better. Being a nice person does not equal a strong leader, and NG students are suffering under this principal. We are also planning to move out of the district. We couldn't be more disheartened by our kids' experiences at the school; thank goodness they no longer go there.

I agree 100% with the September 21, 2014 parent. I have three children that have/are attending there. One I pulled in the beginning of his 4th grade year and homeschooled him. He is now at Nipher and that is a great school. One has learning disabilities and is struggling and they are not addressing his needs in the right way. The youngest one has been doing fine. I have found the younger grades have been fine, but starting in 3rd grade things go down hill. We are looking to move out of the area.

An inviting facility and positive community. Some strong teachers. Principal is very warm. However, we had a horrible experience causing us to lose our trust in the school. When confronted with issues/concerns, the principal's poor leadership skills quickly become apparent. He is unable to balance meeting natural needs of children, common concerns of parents, and support for his staff. He is quick to be defensive, does not follow through or follow up. This results in systemic issues in the school (poor communication, no accountability for weak staff, and veteran teachers being given unreasonable control over areas in which he is clearly uncomfortable leading, to name a few). Instead of taking a stand for what is best for children, his defensiveness and blind support for his staff rule his decision making. He is truly a nice guy, but an insecure leader. We were astounded by our experience and withdrew our child mid-year due to poor leadership, a very weak teacher, aggressive staff unable to be self-reflective, and *exorbitant* amounts of standardized test preparation. We now feel we cannot send any of our children to NG. A devastating experience for our child and us.

I have had two children at this school. One is still there. It is an excellent school. The teachers and administration are dedicated to the students. The academic standards are high. But truly the best part of the school is the community involvement and spirit.
