We have been here 2 years and are very pleased with the community we've joined. We love the amount of diversity, creativity, exploration, ingenuity, and creating excitement for learning. In addition, we appreciate the small community aspect, and care and compassion each staff member provides.

I transitioned two of my children form a private montessori school to the STEM academy when it first opened. Although I liked the focus on individual work ethic and academic excellence at the montessori school, STEM incorporates that and much more! My children have benefited form the accelerated curriculum, sense of community, and access to wonderful opportunities including computer programming, robotics, and hands on classes at the Kalamazoo Math and Science Center. They are only in 3rd and 1st grade. The school is in its' second year of operation and the parents, students, and teachers have settled in beautifully. There is so much parent and community support for not only the students at STEM but the other elementary schools as well,. In fact, many of the inventive education opportunities that are piloted at STEM are being rolled out at the other elementary schools. The school will add 7th and 8th grades in the 2015-2016 academic year, making it a K-8 curriculum. Because of this, our family has no intention of leaving Comstock!

We moved our son from our district's public school to STEM and could not be more pleased! The staff welcomed him and had him settled in like he had been there all along within weeks. STEM has created a unique, fun, safe, learning environment. Unlike in his previous school, he looks forward to go to school and his first grade teacher is top notch! This school offers a variety of enrichment opportunities through their Lego lab and science and math themed family nights. They even have done quite a bit of work with their 3D printer. Another thing we like about this school is he still gets to learn about other areas of interest like music. They have taken several field trips to see plays and other performances and their music teacher put on a very fun spring music concert which involved the whole school. It was great. I have heard people say that things could be more organized but I say considering this is the schools first year, they have done an outstanding job implementing programs and moving things along. I only see great things to come for this school.
