***A Cautionary Tale for Parents Considering the Batt School***I am writing this review to share my deeply concerning experience with the Batt School, with the hope of alerting other parents to potential issues. My son attended Batt School from first grade in September 2020 to third grade, ending in May 2024. Throughout this time, the school staff—especially the owner, Judy Yarnell—consistently praised him as "exceptional academically" and reported that he had "straight A's" and that the school "had no concerns" about his performance.I enrolled him at Batt School partly because it was open during COVID and because they conducted periodic assessments, teacher/parents meetings, always with no issues reported. However, despite these assurances, I grew increasingly concerned as he reached third grade. He struggled with basic writing, and his ability to read and write was alarmingly poor. Yet, Batt School insisted he was doing excellently and had no concerns. After significant thought, I decided to move my son to a highly-regarded public school. To my dismay, he was found to be significantly behind his peers, despite having received what was supposed to be individualized one-on-one instruction for three years. This disconnect has caused him considerable distress, as he now struggles to keep up with his new classmates. It is troubling to think that after paying over $94,883.00 in tuition per year, the education provided was so inadequate. I believe the school misled me about my son's progress, resulting in challenges that could have been avoided. The lack of transparency and effective communication from the Batt School is unacceptable.I urge parents to carefully consider their options and thoroughly research any school before enrolling their children. The staff—including Judy Yarnell, Jordy Yarnell, Megan Yarnell, Nicole Rieman, and teachers Delaina Anderson, Patti Mitchell, Maylie Grubba and Dorothy Steier—should be held accountable for the significant shortcomings in their educational practices.I sincerely hope that no other child and parent have to endure the frustration and disappointment we have faced. If I could give zero stars, I would.

We are entering our 3rd year at the Batt School and absolutely love it! Our son is happy going to school and enjoys learning there. He is getting an amazing, personalized education from incredibly smart and kind people. The teachers care so much about each of their students and go out of their way to make learning fun. We are blown away by how much our son has learned at this school! My two favorite things about the Batt School are:1.The art program is amazing! Our son has art (2D and 3D) at least once each day… sometimes twice. The artwork he brings home is incredible.2.The communication between the school and parents is exceptional. There is an online portal that you log into each day to see a summary of every class. Each teacher writes a short paragraph detailing what they accomplished during class, what they worked on, struggles the child had or things that went exceptionally well. Without having to ask or beg your child for information, you know all of the highlights going on in each subject, every single day! I sometimes get emails from the teachers when there is something they want to discuss in more detail. It is not uncommon to get a random phone call from the head of school to tell you something great that happened during the day. At school pickup time, teachers and administrative staff often come out to the cars to say hello and chat. The staff works very hard to make sure that things are going well for each student, and when they’re not, they make changes. We are confident that our child is getting the best education possible and highly recommend the Batt School!

The Batt School simply saved my sons academic life and our family life. He was struggling, like many ADHD students do, in late elementary. My brilliant son was hating school and not learning. We switched to the Batt school for 4 years where they had the patience to allow him to grow and learn at his own rate. Most importantly they taught him how to learn in a way that worked for him. My son is now an A student in the Honors program of a prestigious private High School.

The Batt School saved my child with special needs. He attended middle and high school at the Batt School; he now attends college with a merit scholarship.

EXCELLENT!! The Batt School is a wonderful place to learn and grow. Judie Batt Yarnell goes above and beyond to accommodate her families. I have been honored to teach here, and highly recommend this school.

Terrible. Judy Batt is not the good person that she appears to be. We are new to Florida and I have never been treated so poorly in my life. They should all be ashamed of themselves for the false impression that they give. Schools should protect children and empower children to be better people. Regardless of your name, race, parents etc.there should be kindness for everyone and that should be reinforced at school.
