First year, my kid was in private education and after hearing and reading about the school we had the best experience, this school need support from al parents not just send the kids to school, what make a great environment is when all do our work. We have excellent experience and my kid was so happy to go everyday. He so smart but wild/social at the same time and love everything about the school and make a lot friends that I been hosting in my house the entire school year and was great experience to see what everyone think about the school. My big recommendation is get involved, put your kids on sports, host some kids at your house or at the park and knowing who your kids are around everyday and of course support the teacher and school.. at the end is a team job.

Most of the work is boring, there is no good motivation for the students to learn, and most students are there either becuese it the nearest school or becuese of the sports.

Sam Houston is a great school because the teachers truly care about the students and their success.

I feel that the teachers at this school actually care about my kid. I get phone calls when there are issues and each of my kid's teachers has some form of contact that lets me keep up with what my child is doing beyond just looking at their grades.

I have worked at Houston Middle School for 12 years and I wouldn't work anyplace else. I love the diversity of the students more than anything else. They represent many different countries and regions and add depth to the educational experience.

I'm a 8th grader that attended Houston middle since I was in 6th. This is the best school I've been too! Sadly I had to transfer to DeZavala middle in December and its horrible! I really do miss Sam Houston and I reccomend it to everyone!

My daughter is in 7th grade and I'm withdrawing her and homeschooling her because of bullies. I also homeschooled her part of her 6th grade year because of bullies. It's out of control and the teachers do nothing about it.

Sam Houston is a great school but, it could be better. Some of the teachers are rude and complain on a daily basis. I think Sam needs more money because, they're very cheap. Also they never call or inform parents, and kids have to find information on there own.A little work here and there it could better.

I've taught at Sam Houston for 7 years. Even though I'm no longer faculty there, I am still a great advocate of what these educators are doing there. Irving ISD teachers are dedicated to their students, work long hours, and provide learning opportunities for all the kids. There are staff members who have devoted 10, 15, and 20 years of service to the students of this campus alone! Send your kids to Irving and we'll help grow them into something amazing!
