This school doesn’t focus on learning academically. They believe in kids being kids at school and expects the learning part from parents or after school academy which puts more financial burdens to parents. Some new teachers are trying to teach but some teachers who’ve been at this school for many years have louder voice and new teachers either don’t stay long or gets burned out by these teachers. This school is overflow school meaning kids from neighboring community comes to this school due to no space from their home school. These kids go back the next year or during school year if the space becomes available from their home school. There has been some cases of bullying and fighting reported but the principal made a rule not to notify parents. Parents find out after through kids. Staff are super protective of teachers never on parents side. Also hear if there is a child with special needs, they are not well educated. Parents, for many years, have asked giving homework to students but the principal and teachers oppose to that since it becomes more work for them. When Eastwood students go to middle school, they struggle the most catching up the huge gap from elementary school to middle school and to learn the habit of doing homework.

Bad. School isnt focused on academics at all. All parents have to supplement education with expensive afterschool programs. You can see it in the data showing disadvantaged kids struggling. This is because those kids don't have money to spend on real learning. The teachers are blind to this and this their lazy approach to teaching is the result of good scores where in fact it's the parents having to work this. I had conversations with multiple parents and we all agree. Concerns raised to the Principle goes unheard.

10 out of 10...just exactly what we were looking for in a neighborhood school. If you want your kids to have lots of repetitive homework where your child is having to memorize rather than think for him or her self then this is NOT the school for you!

My kids love this school. The school is clean, organized, and have good system. The teachers are supportive, encouraging, demonstrate good leadership.

Terrible. I absolutely hate it. We are contemplating selling the house because we want to be moved to a different school. Last year my fifth grader was mixed with a sixth grade class. She did not learn anything but the teacher was nice. We have to pay for Kumon for all 3 kids to supplement the school. I am borrowing school packets from a friend whose kids are the same age as mine so my children can have some “school work”. This is a very nice school (facility wise) but that’s pretty much all you’ll get from this school. I talk to other parents during PTA meetings. A lot of them share the same feelings but have no choice because we are assigned to this school.
