My 3 kids all grew up going to Rather. I have delt with other public schools in the area and have found that Mr. Magley is above and beyond the best principle.

To any parent wanting the best public education that Ionia County has to offer, Rather Elementary is the school you are looking for! Starting with the Principal who oversees the staff and children with such dedication that I never once doubted the education, safety or lessons in honor, respect and responsibility being taught in this school every day!! We have sent all 3 of our children to this school from K-5th grade and they come through into Middle School scoring above average in allll testing areas. By 7th grade they score college level reading. The teachers at Rather take individual note of each students capabilities and advance them or tutor them as their need dictates. The teachers have proven to showcase their extreme dedication to this school in many areas of over and above what is "typically expected" of a regular teachings position. Do not hesitate to know you are making a very sound decision in sending your child/ren to this wonderful spirit filled and led school! We love it!!! Thank you Rather for everything you have done for our family! The Fedons

I don't know about all the teachers but my kid had trouble from the start at least with the fith grade his teacher had yelled at the kids before I don't think they are as helpful as they can be not very caring trying to rush everything It is not very often my kid comes home happy like he use to be , I talked to the principal and he pretty much just sticks up for the teachers and puts all the blame on my kid Ill be glad when school is over Id say pick another elementary I should of
