Teachers pick and target students and there are no options to move to other teachers!

My experience with IES has been fantastic since the very first time we walked in the door. We are zoned for Ockwilla, but when I asked them about programs for my advanced son, they were rude and told me my child was not advanced and would do fine in a regular class. (They had never met him.) His teacher at IES spent half an hour before school at the end of the previous year screening him and said that after meeting him, she wished she had allotted more time. The staff answered all of my questions and made getting my zoning exemption super simple. Last year, he started kindergarten reading at a first grade level and left at a third grade level. His teacher continued to challenge him, even though he was far ahead of the rest of the class in most subjects. He also advanced more than a grade level in math and quickly went from dreading school to loving it. 4 days into summer break, he couldn't wait for school to start again.

Interlachen Elementary school is a great school. They work hard to ensure our children obtain excellence. The teachers, staff and volunteers do an excellent job every single day. We are very happy with this school.
