Our son is currently attending for his 6th grade school year. We decided on GHSA because it was a smaller setting. So far we have been satisfied with our son’s academic outcome. I look forward to seeing his growth in 7th grade. I love that there cell phone policy. I love that they are holding the students to private school standards regarding clothing and expectations. I love the additional supportive that is given for struggling students and I love how they try to eliminate distractions. I love the GHSA family oriented culture among the staff and students.

As a foster parent I have been absolutely amazed at the support given to my foster child and I. This is one of the few school that I have ever worked with that has a clinical team onsite, that is committed to the phycological and emotional well-being of their students. The license professionals, case managers, councilors and teachers, all working together with the child and their support system to ensure the betterment of the child. My child is in the 7th grade, and she looks forward to returning back as an 8th grader. I have nothing bad to say about this school. They have truly been a support system to family and me during our first year of participation.

My experience at Grace Hopper has been great so has my daughters. The principal teachers and staff are very friendly and caring, if there's anything a student needs help with their on top of it, or if you're a parent with any questions or concerns about your student they're there to help you with no hesitation. My daughter loves attending this school. We look forward starting her new school year as an 8th grader at Grace Hopper steam Academy.

I have worked at Grace Hopper STEM Academy (GHSA) since it opened in 2013. I wanted to work here because of the effort and dedication the staff makes to the students. The staff embraces the 'whole child' and is very proud of this fact. This concept allows all students to have a very intimate experience while being enrolled in GHSA. Upon enrollment most of our students are years behind in the core subjects (math, English, science and history). We work hard (and I believe harder than most) to improve the proficiencies and levels of learning for our students. We might not be able to bring a child to grade level proficiencies, but we begin teaching from where they are at and begin improvement from there. Usually, our enrollment increases each year by 13% or so, but since the pandemic we have lost manty students for a variety of reason, some not known to us. We are not the perfect school, but we are a very hard-working school. We can always improve upon who we are. We don't take anything for granted and our priority is to provide our students with a safe environment for learning, and to make them the most improved version of who they are, ready for the challenges of the real world and their community.

My Son started this school since 6th grade and I can say during this years Everyone has treated my child like Family. They had helped him and supported him in ways that they didn’t have to so he can improve in his education. They went above for my Son.

This has to be the worst school in America I enrolled my 8th grader she is a honor student she was her less then 8 hours and had a man (dean ) yelling at them over rules they never heard or sent over they also had two ladies seating in the same room with them calling them the two new messy chicks and when I pick my kids up the principal to sign a form on rules I ask her about why this man is yelling at new students their 1st day she say she can’t justify his actions but since my daughter ask a lady was she a teacher that she’s not enrolled after being in school all day getting yelling at and also have a another student to tell her the school rules how embarrassing that is on your 1st how Rude is it to try and explain your self and the dean tell you he don’t care this n that ain’t ok in this school !!! The dean to tell a student you looked at they pass school and this ain’t ok

I love this school I have a 7th grader that loves it there as well, the staff are very professional and friendly. My child does better in a small setting school/class which this school offers. The teachers and staff knows each child individually which helps with each child’s individual learning differences, also they promote positive leadership which is important for middle school.

I'd rate this school a, 5. The school isn't that bad, but it is. Also, the food is bad. Some students don't eat it because they think they are eating raw chicken. I think you guys should volunteer some students to help cook food. It would be a awesome class/activity. For example, some students could cut fruit and others can help make a salad. Something like that. But as to end this, the school should be improved.

Grace hopper has been an good school for me. The classes that there are is Science, Math, P.E, Spanish (for 8th graders), Humanities, Composition, Health, Project Lead the Way (for 8th graders), Intro to computers ( for 6th and 7th graders), and Intervention. I starred coming to Grace Hopper STEM Academy since the 6th grade. Grace Hopper is a all girls school. The teachers care about all the students and treat everyone the same . All the teachers expect all the students to know everything they though by the end of the day. Grace Hopper has an after school program . After, The 3 years that I have been in this school I feel comfortable with it.

GHSA PLTW Park Project:After going through the process of creating our park, I realized how important it is to work together. There were times when people did not do their part and it would throw us off track. Luckily, we were able to do what needed to be done. I enjoyed working with my group members even though I got irritated at times I was still able to work with them. My main challenge was staying focused and on task because for some reason I am always tired during first period. Lastly enjoyed designing and or building my own park equipment. I like how we were able to use our creativity to make certain things. Overall I had a great time and I am glad our park came out the way I pictured it and not the way some of my group members said it would.

Grace Hopper STEM Academy is an amazing school academically, however, there is some miscommunication within the staff and faculty members. Other than that, this school is a great place to make friends and get the appropriate amount of high school and/or college preparation.

GHSA PLTW PARK PROJECT The park project was a lot of fun , I really liked how we all had to design and model. I designed a bench and it wasn't really easy to structure but I created my best work . When we were done with creating and putting our parks together we had to model them on a computer it was harder than I expected but I tried my best . This project was a great experience because I learned a lot about leadership and working together.
