My son has really excelled here at Edison. With programs like Film Ed and CIBACS, those students who take their education seriously will really thrive at this school. From the teachers to the other staff, hands down they make this school as amazing as it is.

I'm alumni from 80s. The school has certainly fallen in terms of whom it hires. So much bloat in staff. The AD is a joke and leaves at noon everyday yet I am sure collects a full paycheck. The Asst Principals are almost 1/2 dozen and work as hard as old Twitter employees before Elon Musk bought the place. The teachers aren't the problem here though they aren't half bad just a little bit less intelligent than their predecessors. They give loads of homework in lieu of actual teaching the students how to think. The place is way different than it used to be in terms of sports because the AD has clearly made many bad decisions and just cares about his pension and nothing else. A great place to go if you're woke and you want your kids to work at Starbucks.

It’s wonderful to be part of a school that is not woke! Please continue to put kids first. They are our future. Thanks!

Special needs parent here. This is not a good school for special children. Busing company is the worst i have ever experienced, rude and sound bothered ever time you call. (I had to call to check status on the bus, sometimes they would come early and leave, others they would be late so i would never know). The management is even worse. Jeff hung up on me several times after voicing a concern i had. He is the worst I have seen in any position at a school. Such a bad experience that I changed schools within months of being in this district. 15 years in ocean view district, 0 problems. Within months at Huntington beach district, i left

Administration deliberately kept my son out of school for 3 weeks. My son is a new incoming student and his father lives around the corner. I was told by the head the head principal that they don't have to let my child in their school. They did everything they could to slow down the process. In addition, they were hostile toward me. Also, administration does not own the school and they can't decide to keep a child out of school because they don't like him. I am completely aware that they were discriminating against me and my child, and I am completely aware that they were trying to slow down the process so much that I would get frustrated and give up. That's illegal! No, I don't advocate when a child misbehaves and I understand when a child needs to be discipline. However, administration acted like a kid in a candy store when they got a hold of information that made my child look like an undesirable candidate. They gleefully kept my son out of school. It was a great time at my sons expense. I don't feel lucky that my son is attending that school anymore, not after the way the treated him. I don't think they are so great anymore.

There are several good teachers and some bad teachers. This school is very cliquey and gossipy. Most students here are open to different sexual orientations. There are a lot of "skinheads" or wanna be punk rock kids that are prejudice towards other races, yet this is a white bred school so there arent many people they pick on. Also the "punk" "skater" and "skinhead" folk seem to always want to start fights with everyone because they think its cool. Overall my experience is and will most likely continue to be poor while I am attending Edison. Honestly the atmosphere is really depressing in my opinion and several of my other friends opinions. A lot of people I know just want to die when they are on the Edison campus. That being said if you find a group that suits you well here you should be fine.

My daughter is a new student at Edison/Freshman, came from another district and we were not sure if academically this school would be on par. However, we are so happy - the teachers are wonderful! Vibrant, interesting, challenges the kids, and motivates them. Could not be happier, but to be honest (and realistic) 4 out of her 5 teachers she is learning a great deal from. This is a great school! Hope it continues to be.

The athletic programs have grossly gone down hill under the leadership of the current principal and athletic director. The school is currently being investigated by the US Debt. of ED for tittle IX violations as well as the Debt. of Fair Employment for gender discrimination. They care more about headlines than the student's best interest. There is no accountability at the highest level. IT's a terrible disappointment from where the school's standards used to be.

As a student who has had experience from outside the entire HB School District area, I can absolutely say this school is amazing! The teachers are very helpful, and the courses are rigorous and definetely challenge the students. Teachers and other staff members are always available to help any student, regardless if it is academic or not. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and making friends is surprisingly easy (coming from a timid freshman who didn't know a single person). Edison has great clubs that motivate students to get involved and meet many others from all over the district...and beyond. The students show a whole lot of Charger Pride, and that can often be shown through our killer athletics teams. Overall, Edison is a great place to be.

We could not wait for my daughter to graduate. Thank God she graduated and the nightmare is over. The levels of bullying at this HS are immensely high, and what is worse is that the principle, the vice-principle, teachers and staff cover this issue with nice words to parents (sugar coated). In many occasions I contacted the assistant principal Mr.Raschke to address a few bullying issues that my daughter encountered. All I heard was that their mission is not to tolerate bullying behavior from any student, and that he was going to take an immediate action to resolve it. Needless to say, that never occurred. It broke my heart to see my daughters tears while she was telling me the horrific stories that she experienced at Edison. I few years ago my family and I moved to the city of HB looking for a better school district, but unfortunately we picked the worse. Now we are looking to move to again to a better school district since I have another daughter and we do not want her to go through the same nightmare. If you are a parent and read this; I encourage you not to make the same mistake we did; if you really care for your children mental and physical health.

I love Edison ! It's an incredible school! The staff is amazing! and you can honestly see that they LOVE to teach! were a block away from the beach!!! and having teachers like Ms.Richter is what MAKES Edison! Especially with a great support team like the school Psychologists, Mr.Kaplan and Ms.Beideman! I'm a senior this year, and wouldn't have made it without the help of Ms.Richter, Mr.Kaplan, and Ms.Beideman. I LOVE my school and wouldn't want to go ANYWHERE else.

I am a former student that went to Edison High School Freshman and Sophmore year. I am now graduated, but after Edison I got sent to 2 other high schools. I have to say Edison was the BEST school, it was challenging, and if you put your mind to it, they have GREAT academic programs, take advantage of all you can get out of Tutorials, and Zero period, and extracurricular activities. I wish I had! If I could go back to high school now I would go back to Edison, it was great. A little hard to fit in, but as for learning, it is a fantastic learning environment. From what I can remember all my teachers were very nice, and helpful too. They also have Amazing Counselors such as Mrs. Temple, and various others who will help struggling teens with their problems.

I have only been to this school for one year and I must say that this is an awesome school. The teachers are very helpful and kind. Yes, some of them can be crazy, but all schools have their crazy teachers. I have not seen or heard of any bullying. The the athletics are outstanding! All of the teaching staff is very motivational and they try really hard to help you succeed. Based on my experience, the students there are surprisingly mature, besides the Freshmen of course. Every school has their problems but at EHS, these problems are small. The schedule may be a bit awkward to some people but everybody gets used to it. Overall, Edison is a pretty good school with a high graduation rate. Two thumbs up.
