This school has been an incredible find for my family. Our daughter loves it here, and we've found it to be a very supportive community of parents and teachers. They have the kids develop a sense of independence early on through their Montessori program and extend that into a classical, holistic education that helps kids grow. Can't imagine a better environment for my kid.

Saint Nichola School is a great community to be involved in. Our kids love it here, and we are so happy to have found a place so dedicated to their education, through Montessori lower education through a classical education for older kids.

Run as far away from this school as you possibly can. There are problems and they start at the top. The head, Ms. Heard, is not involved and does not respond to parents concerns or requests for meetings. She is too busy "playing" at her ranch to notice her schools are falling apart. You also must enter into a yearly contract which means you cannot withdraw your child unless you still want to pay for the full year. My husband and I moved and they made us pay over $10k for 2 MONTHS of tuition!!! What?? Who does that! RUN to another school that cares about children!!!

The St. Nicholas Schools are Montessori based. The Montessori system creates an overall environment of respect. The St. Nicholas Schools believe that students have abilities that far exceed society expectations. To this end, students are instructed in Spanish, Frence and Latin starting in early elementary years. They are also taught that the universe is interconnected and interdependent, and that human beings have been given the special and unique honor of caring for one of its worlds.

SNS on Mullins is a Montessori school and the teachers teach music and art every day as well as other subjects. Specialized teachers come in every day as well to teach Spanish, French, Latin, and Classical Studies. The school is a member in good standing with Christian Montessori Fellowship and the International Montessori Council. The school is in good standing with all applicable agencies. The Director for the campus is Bernadette Castro, and the Curriculum Director is Suparna Vashisht, who is full time at the campus. They are available to answer questions every day and tours are offered daily at 8:30am for parents to see the program in action.

I am so sad to read this comments, I have 4 kids register at St. Nicholas for so many years and I feel very proud of the level of education and academics that they are getting there. I have to mention that there are two St. Nicholas Schools, one located at the Medical Center and the other one at Mullins. I am talking on behalf of the one located at the Medical Center. It is certainly a small school but the quality of academics is just great. On eof my children started when he was in pre-school he is 8 grade and he know much, much more and has a vast general culture than any other student of his age at any other private or public school. I certainly appreciate the job of so many teachers in that school. Of course there are things that can be improve but in order to do that parents need to work together to help, in stead of critizing. It is truth that the school needs a stronger school leadership, it also needs attention to other details. but in general, I personally think that this is a great school. My experience have been excellent for so many years.

My daugher attends this school and I love it! If the parents below are complaining here they should have been mature enough to address it to the school itself, instead of critizing on the web!!!! Totally not agree with their comments and very disrespectful!

My children attended this school for 3+ years, so I think I am well qualified to critique St. Nicholas School 2. Some positives: (i) they provide very healthy meals to the kids, all prepared in the kitchen, (iii) they offer long hours of care, including an after school program until 6:00. Many negatives: (i) the headmistress is all but invisible, and really doesn't care about parental feedback, (ii) the head administrator is fairly clueless about rules/policies and is a very poor communicator, (iii) very high teacher turnover, (iv) the teachers and leadership place more emphasis on the rules rather than the children. In summary, this school will always be marginal and small because of the poor leadership and high teacher turnover. There are many better private pre-school options in Houston, most for a cheaper price.

First off the teachers are kind and care about the kids, the leadership does not. The cost of tutition is one of the highest I have seen, which doesnt make sence why the Mullins location is a complete train wreck. The Building is falling apart, due to lack of care. The water fountain in my childs class has been broke for a year. The teacher turnover is high, which is sad because alot of teachers were great w/ our kids. It feels like the Mullins location is the step child of the two locations. They talk about a face lift, my child has been there for along time and havent seen much improvment on the building. The Compters have been broke for 2 years. My children will no longer be attending St. Nicholas, we will be moving to another school that truely care about its students.

This School was a great disappointment for us. I rarely complain about things -normally keep them to myself, but I feel the need to express my experience. Bottom line, the school never said one positive thing to me about my 2 year old - in addition, the class he attended did not use positive reinforcement with my son. They would send me negative notes but would never provide recommendations or context. The school basically wants robot children to recite songs and prayers. They would not even allow my child to talk in class with his friend at 2. I beleive at 2 children learn though play and social interaction. I overheard the teacher on several occasions yelling at 2 year olds crying on there first day to learn to behave - this school needs to make some large changes. We have moved him out.
