Can’t speak highly enough of this school! My son is an inclusion student (sped) and the sped department here has done WONDERS for him! We went from D’s and F’s to A’s, B’s and C’s! Moving here was best decision! The teachers and staff truly love these kids and the administration has a no nonsense policy for bullying and misbehavior which is great for teaching our kids how to become productive members of society. They have lots of clubs to join and the school places great every year in Beta for state and regional competitions! If you want great teachers, good education and a school where bullying and bad behavior are not tolerated this is your school! You won’t find better admin in this parish!

Many children think 9/11 is humorous, and love to make jokes about themselves being black when they are white. They are all spoiled children and teachers give them rewards even though they were bad. They make you pay to join clubs which is girls on the run, beta, and 4-H. They threaten to make you stay after school in detention if your shirt isn't tucked in. And if the children are bad the teachers are the only ones telling their parents. No staff or principal tells the parents. Unless what the child did breaks the literal law. And the children think that when they act up badly that is an accomplished. And unless you want your child/children feeling like an outsider, don't sent them to mulberry.

If you have a child that is not white and is not special according to the school then stay away from mulberry elementary. The only special kids they want is gifted and talented. If your child needs extra help or testing you can forget it! I have been trying for 5 years now to get my daughter help. And I will pray for you if you have a kid going to 3rd grade getting one particular teacher who puts all the black kids and asian kids at a table to themselves. I would NOT subject my kid to her! She is a horrible teacher.

We have come to this school from out of state. I am comparing this school to my sons last school and it doesn't even come close. It lacks specials areas (art, STEM specifically) and they have no after school clubs for the younger kids and limited clubs for older kids. Their robotics club is limited to a fraction of the students, which is disappointing since robotics has progressed so much over the entire country over the last several years. When I asked the principal about allowing an outside source come in after school to teach a STEM group she was against it, even though this same group goes to several schools across the parish and is widely loved. Another problem I have noticed is my kids have no clue who the principal is. At my sons last school the principal was in the car loop EVERY day,at drop off and pick up. He knew every single child, that child's parents and siblings. They knew their principal and loved him. My kids could not pick Gwen Ferguson up out of a line up. My son LOVED going to school at his last school and now frequently complains about going. Transitioning into Mulberry has been difficult to say the least.

My experience has been extremely positive. I will say, we had a rough year in third grade, but other than that, I am very impressed. Wonderful teachers!!! I will never be able to thank Emily Gilmore, Michelle Chaisson, Selema Blanchard, and Katherine Torbert enough!!!

School for the rich........ All they care about is their ratings. Worst school I have ever sent my kids too. They treat your kids like they are in the military. If you have a special needs child don't send them here. They have no clue, they will use their disability against them. paras are good though.

Tim Daigle is the best special Ed teacher Mulberry has ever had. Tara Portier, 3rd grade, is amazing! New administration has made such a difference with this school. Gwen Ferguson and Dene Cunningham are the best!!!!

I do not care for this school at all. We live in the mulberry school district and know that probably half of the students at Mulberry do not live in the area. Both of my children are currently enrolled here but there are to many kids per class the teachers just dont seem to care, and the fact that the kids barely have recesses because of the amount of work they have is just ridiculous. Not to mention the homework they pile on our children. I thought this school was suppose to be a top notch school in this district but i completely disagree.

This school is horrible!! Not all the teachers because they do have a handfull of them that love their jobs and devote themselves to the learning of students but most are absolute horrible. They have their favorite students and mistreat other students. My son has been punished on several occasions for asking questions in class. If teachers have a problem they publically humiliate them by calling them out in front of the school like at lunch, instead of privately. I do not recommend this school to anyone.

My son has been attending Mulberry since 4th grade and is now in 6th. They have implemented the common core standard curriculum this year and it is a disaster. My wife and I spend at least 2 to 3 hrs each day working on homework with him, half of which the teachers have not gone over in class. The teachers are not educated in how to teach and grade the new curriculum, do not go over everything in class, and it is showing in all students grades. We have never had this much trouble. I feel very sorry for the students and parents who do not have the time to spend 3 hrs a day at home on subjects. Something needs to be done. The new principle and vice principle this year need to take action. This school has seriously gone down hill in the past 2 years.
