So far I am very pleased with Elysian Fields. Over the last couple of years, I had no issues with the school. The teachers are very professional and actually take the time to meet afterschool with parents. I am actually sad that this is her last year. Great School!

Although the office staff is pleasant, which was not the case at other schools I've visited, the teachers seem to lack enthusiasm- and just plain don't care. For the parent/teacher conference my child's teacher didn't even know my child had an F in one of her subjects! The bathroom stalls are COVERED in profanity and x-rated drawings. and the school treats the children like criminals from day 1- having them fold their arms and walk on a straight line through the hallway. And at the parent orientation, instead of the staff saying "we're going to have a GREAT year and going to do GREAT things!" they said "your child will not speak while eating lunch or while walking down the hall. they will behave." (which they don't). My child constantly complains about being bullied, and the teachers just say "ignore it". THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE STUDENTS! I didn't expect much from this school, but even those expectations were not met. From our perspective, this school is a HUGE disappointment.

My daughter has attended this school for two years now. Under the administration of Ms. Wallis this school has become an exceptional school. I just wish that more parents would get involved with their children's education. We have experienced many schools outside of Louisiana, and I consider this school to be one of the best.
