Muy buena la escuela, ayuda a los niños poder obtener instrumento de la banda si no tiene la economía para poder pagarla. También enseñan bien a los estudiantes.

Great school that is very diverse and gives you the tools to succeed after school.

My daughter is currently a sixth grader at Springfield middle school. So far, she has been doing very well and really likes the teachers in her team. No tears after school is a good sign to me. I haven't seen a lot of homework, which I am fine with me, but she does get a lot done in school. I know of other students who bring home a lot of homework. That could be due to the teachers in those teams or it could be because the child either takes more time and is not able to finish in school.

My 6th grader was transferred to springfield middle school because his previous school lacked diversity. I now realize that I traded a lack of diversity for a decrease in the quality of education (as I perceive it to be). My son receives homework in only one subject and the assignments given in math are graded by the students. The teacher then asks the student what grade they deserve WOW. It has been quite some time (20) years or so since I attended what was then junior high but how can a students' ability truly be measured if they (honest or not) are responsible for checking their own assignments with the teacher relying on self reports for grading? Furthermore, if a student is struggling to grasp a concept isn't homework graded by a teacher typically used to identify that the student may need additional support? I've never heard of a process such as this but was informed by school officials that students are given credit for completion of what we would consider homework assignments and are not assessed based on accuracy. The student, not understanding the concepts that he or she has graded then is expected to pass an exam or quiz over the material. Is it me?

Bullying runs rampant in this schhol with no efforts by administration to address the problem. My child, who has never seen the inside of the Principal's office, comes home frequently with tales of how football players are untouchable and mow other kids down in the hallway, and how the girls are so mean and catty that the other girls cry. A friend recently told me that "its like that at any school you go to." I disagree. I don't want that kind of environment for my child.

We moved to this school district from another state. From a school in which my daughter excelled in everything she did, from a school that I felt safe sending my child to and had many more options for her to excel. I read reviews and was excited to send her to this "top notch" public school. She has made plenty of friends and still makes good grades but she doesn't have the opportunities that she once had. I once knew each and every one of her teachers now I don't even know what her teachers look like. Maybe it is more difficult for us because we came from an excellent school district. If this is one of the better schools in OH I'd hate to see the bad ones. My child never not wanted to go to school and for the first time she wakes up every morning not wanting to go. I just wonder what all the fuss is about. The faculty has no control over what the kids do and anybody can just walk into that school w/o anyone noticing. I don't know, maybe I'm being negative or it is to soon to say, but so far I really am not impressed with this school.
