This school has a lot of mean people in it and they use kids to do teachers work! Isn’t that crazy! And also they rush you to do the work fast instead of taking your time. And I as a student I wouldn’t recommend this school at all!

We have had nothing but issues with this school since our son has been going there. They send home one packet of homework to be completed in the week but they don't tell parents when the kids are learning what so we know when to do certain problems in the packet. They allow students to subtitute lunches with junk food, they try to dictate what our child should eat, even though we give him 100% natural juice and snacks that do not contain red 40. We made ourselves very clear to the school that he is to have NO red 40 in his diet at all, yet they would allow him to eat things containing this, making him a zombie by the time he got home or so wound up that he was unmanagable. Most recently, our son, who is 5, decided he didn't want to ride the bus. He told one of the teachers he didn't want to ride the bus and instead of calling us, they just let him stay at the school causing mass panic for us and the Hilliard Police Dept as we did not know where our child was. He wasn't on the bus and the only information I got was from another child who rode his bus, saying he didn't get on the bus. Nothing else. The Principal was uncaring and never apoligized. Don't waste your money here.

The school is a joke ! after a year there my son didn't reach the same knowledge level as other kids in other schools of his age. The Principal is very rude and always calls us with school messages in the most inappropriate times disregarding families schedules or appropriate times of calling, bus schedule is one of the worst in Columbus, drivers are late by an hour and sometimes 2 hours, sometimes they are a no show and parents are notified last minute to come pick up their kids, staff has no respect to parents or the polite appropriate ways of communication, demanding in their requests, and get themselves involved on how you raise your child or what you feed them even ! Although this is a charter school, there is no postings of how much the school year costs for different years, and the school still asks for money and donations and sends notifications in kids bags and endless phone calls asking for faking votes in an unethical way to nominate the school for best school to receive cash rewards, it's almost as if the goal is making money and paying the bills rather than teaching the kids good morals and values.

I was a student last year, I am relieved I finally left this school, I wasn't learning anything and the religion classes were taught by inexperienced teachers who sometimes would tell wrong info and later on my dad corrects them .

Our three children have attended Sunrise Academy since kindergarten. Two are now in middle school there. We absolutely love this school and are so grateful for the opportunities our kids have had there. The atmosphere is extremely supportive and nurturing, like a family. We like the diversity in the student population and also in the teaching staff. Our kids are being well prepared academically. The principal is wonderful and very involved with the students. We can't say enough about how blessed we feel to have our kids at Sunrise Academy!
